Pop star Benson Boone has opened up about being an \u2018overnight success\u2019 while teasing the \u201cinspiration\u201d and \u201cconnection\u201d that awaits fans ahead on his imminent Australian tour.<\/p>\n

Boone, whose smash hit single Beautiful Things skyrocketed him to fame in 2024, is bringing his Wanted Man Tour<\/a> Down Under with a string of stadium shows slated for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne throughout November. <\/p>\n

Securing such massive venues all across the country is undoubtedly the reward for Boone\u2019s years of hustling in the music industry, but Beautiful Things\u2019 rapid success might\u2019ve given the impression that Boone\u2019s career simply materialised overnight. <\/p>\n

Now, in an interview with news.com.au ahead of his Australian tour, Boone has revealed the unseen dedication that goes into securing a breakout moment like Beautiful Things, and the role it has played in his artistry ever since. <\/p>\n

\u201cWith Beautiful Things specifically, I\u2019ve been told a lot, \u2018Oh you\u2019re so lucky your song took off. How did you get it to do that?\u2019 And what a lot of people don\u2019t actually know is I posted so many videos. I literally posted 90 videos before it ever took off,\u201d Boone recalled.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Boone is familiar with putting in the groundwork that allows for an overnight success story. The singer had been grinding in the industry for several years before Beautiful Things topped the charts, including the release of multiple singles and a successful stint on American Idol \u2013 with Beautiful Things simply being the moment that the rest of the world caught up.<\/p>\n

While Boone\u2019s hard work has evidently paid off in the years since \u2013 securing a Grammy nomination, an acclaimed second album American Heart, and a co-sign from Taylor Swift \u2013 he still admits that, like any success story, there\u2019s an element of luck always at play. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt does take, for any song, it takes a lot of pushing or a lot of luck for a song to do well,\u201d Boone told news.com.au. \u201cI guess in my case it was a little bit of luck and a lot of work and shoving it in people\u2019s faces.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being at the centre of a pop culture flashpoint like Beautiful Things is bound to bring a level of pressure or expectation afterwards, but Boone said he has resisted the understandable urge to prove he\u2019s not a one-hit wonder in the knowledge that such moments can\u2019t be manufactured.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt definitely puts a lot more pressure, I feel subconsciously, after a song like that. Of course I want songs to perform well, but I don\u2019t think you could ever replicate anything, especially in the music industry,\u201d Boone said. <\/p>\n

\u201cEverything that happens on a large scale \u2013 it\u2019s so hard to get there and there are so many different components that tie in to getting it there, that trying to look for the same thing repetitively is just very unlikely,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Boone clarified that his outlook \u2013 of constantly sketching new contours of his artistry rather than drawing from the same playbook \u2013 does not mean he\u2019s avoiding success, but rather that he wants to find new ways to get there. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not to say that I\u2019m not chasing success or that I don\u2019t want any songs to do well, but I don\u2019t want it to look the exact same as it already has,\u201d Boone said.<\/p>\n

The same passion Boone has for his career, he shares with his fans. Thousands are expected to turn out for his Australian Wanted Man Tour, and while his goal is to always put on a good show, Boone said he hopes the concert experience feels deeper.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people love music so much because they want to feel understood and seen. I know that sounds cliche, but to some people that are coming to these shows, it means a lot to them to feel a connection. That\u2019s a space I really like to fill for people,\u201d Boone said. <\/p>\n

\u201cOf course I want people to leave my shows feeling good, but if I can strike a cord and someone feels a very deep feeling, and they leave that concert feeling inspired, or just any form of deep emotion, that\u2019s what I would prefer to go for.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to make people feel like I am just performing to them, which is why I really value my connection to the crowd. I\u2019m not there to perform to a camera, I\u2019m not there to perform to the internet, I\u2019m there to perform to them, and that\u2019s always how I\u2019ve been,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Boone\u2019s Australian Wanted Man Tour<\/a> begins with a three-night run at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre from November 6 to November 8, and is followed by back-to-back shows at Melbourne\u2019s Rod Laver Arena on November 12, November 13 and November 14. <\/p>\n

The tour wraps up in Sydney with a three night run at Afterpay Arena from November 17. <\/p>\n
