The final decision will be made by the World Rugby Council.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina lead South America\u2019s Rugby World Cup bid<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/team\/argentina\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Argentine<\/a> Rugby Union issued a statement confirming that it has presented all the information required for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/tag\/world-rugby\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Rugby<\/a> to analyse in preparation for the decision on the host of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/tournament\/rugby-world-cup\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2035 World Cup.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the submitted bid, it was established that, if chosen as the host for RWC 2035, the four countries will host World Cup matches,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith a combined population of 283 million, growing economies, diverse landscapes, and experience hosting multiple international events this century \u2013 including rugby, world championships, Olympic Games, and multi-sport events \u2013 the region offers strong elements to be an attractive destination for the magnitude of the Rugby World Cup, the marquee event of our sporting scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stadiums presented are the Estadio Monumental and the Jos\u00e9 Amalfitani in Buenos Aires, the Diego Armando Maradona Unique Stadium in La Plata, the Mario Alberto Kempes in C\u00f3rdoba, the Madre de Ciudades Unique Stadium in Santiago del Estero, the Padre Martearena Stadium in Salta, the Malvinas Argentina in Mendoza, and the Gigante de Arroyito Stadium in Rosario (in Argentina), the Maracan\u00e1 Stadium (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), the National Stadium (Santiago de Chile) and the Centenario Stadium (Montevideo, Uruguay).\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-1 text-sm font-semibold leading-snug text-title line-clamp-3 sm:mb-0 sm:text-[15px] sm:leading-5 sm:line-clamp-2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/news\/rugby-world-cup-uk-broadcast-details-confirmed-as-world-rugby-hail-agreement-with-trusted-partner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rugby World Cup UK broadcast details confirmed as World Rugby hail agreement with \u2018trusted partner\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Frontrunners and contenders<\/p>\n<p>The South American nations are set to compete with 2019 Rugby World Cup hosts Japan as well as Spain and Italy. A potential joint bid involving Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar was being prepared; however, reports last year stated that a change in Saudi Arabia\u2019s Public Investment Fund\u2019s (PIF) financial strategy resulted in the country abandoning its plan to host the 2035 Rugby World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>It has been reported that South Africa have had discussions with World Rugby over the feasibility of the tournament returning to the country that hosted the event in 1995, after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/news\/sa-rugby-boss-why-new-zealand-and-south-africa-may-never-host-a-rugby-world-cup-again\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer stated it was unlikely that they would<\/a>, due to financial constraints and the governing body\u2019s shift toward high-revenue markets.<\/p>\n<p>That could result in the World Cup heading to Spain, particularly after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/news\/shock-favourites-to-host-2035-world-cup-emerge-as-rugbys-showpiece-event-could-take-centre-stage-at-iconic-football-stadiums\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Rugby CEO Alan Gilpin said that there was an appetite for the showpiece event to return to Europe<\/a> after the tournament in the United States of America in 2031.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe took some big strategic decisions a few years ago to go men\u2019s and women\u2019s in Australia and the same in the US,\u201d World Rugby CEO Alan Gilpin told the publication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we\u2019ve now go to think about the balance and whether we bring 2035 [men\u2019s] and 2037 [women\u2019s] back to Europe. It\u2019s almost like a regional rotation. Hosting a World Cup in our region is a long-standing debt, and we are confident that we are an ideal candidate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>F\u00e9lix P\u00e1ez Molina, President of the Argentine Rugby Union, added: \u201cThe presentation of this candidacy represents a very important step for Argentine rugby and for the entire region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have the opportunity to show the world our passion for this sport, our ability to organize major events, and everything our countries have to offer.
