three-month-old baby son.<\/p>\n<p>Uneeb Ullah, 28, allegedly took his son to an Ipswich Hospital on Thursday with significant internal injuries, before the infant was transferred to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/australia-news\/qld\" class=\"sc-iRgEWu hHENWX\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Queensland<\/a> Children\u2019s Hospital in Brisbane. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/b4e90357dc5fec948a2b3e36834c7733ef05beed.jpeg\"  width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"_0b53bae146db0b62 _7475dd3391ee1518\" style=\"--text-color:var(--color-text-secondary)\">The child was transferred to Queensland Children\u2019s Hospital, where he died of his injuries.\u00a0Nine<\/p>\n<p>The boy died of his injuries on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations into how the boy was injured began when he was first hospitalised, and hospital staff called police after raising concerns about how the three-month-old sustained his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight, his father was arrested at an Ipswich home and taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p>Ullah was charged with one count of murder \u2013 domestic violence against a child.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Inspector Mick Manago said the police investigation is \u201cconfronting\u201d and difficult.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an incredibly tragic incident involving the death of a three-month-old infant boy,\u201d he told media on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny death is devastating, but the death involving a young and vulnerable member of the community is particularly tragic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manago did not elaborate when or how the boy was injured, but said his mother and father were still in a relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe boy\u2019s mother is extremely upset, as you can imagine, this is a terribly tragic event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s struggling, but we\u2019re offering all of the support we can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ullah\u2019s case was mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, despite police attempts to delay proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>He did not appear when his matter was mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>His case might return to court later in the day if new charges were laid, Magistrate Nicholas Brown said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/c13ccb13ddda20cbed0f39c6f5233a4a3c30c5044dad50db60c8a77dd548a535.jpeg\"  width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"_0b53bae146db0b62 _7475dd3391ee1518\" style=\"--text-color:var(--color-text-secondary)\">Detective Inspector Michael Manago said police and hospital workers had been deeply impacted by the infant\u2019s death.\u00a09News<\/p>\n<p>When Ullah\u2019s case came before the court on Wednesday, police prosecutor Ben Messina asked it be stood down until later in the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI received a phone call this morning \u2026 that potentially more material would be provided and asked if this matter be stood down to the end of the list,\u201d Messina said of the \u201crelatively vague request\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The magistrate agreed to re-mention the case if other charges were laid.<\/p>\n<p>Kirstyn Nicholson, a Legal Aid solicitor representing Ullah, did not apply for bail and sought an adjournment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/topic\/police-6iyz\" class=\"sc-iRgEWu hHENWX\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Police<\/a> continue to investigate the boy\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/0c0410e9b1f2cd94ca3087d48af54fcff38317163ec55b81ee43de383bd8768d.jpeg\"  width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"_0b53bae146db0b62 _7475dd3391ee1518\" style=\"--text-color:var(--color-text-secondary)\">Queensland Police Minister Dan Purdie said the death was \u201ctragic\u201d.\u00a0Catherine Strohfeldt<\/p>\n<p>Manago did not confirm or deny if Ullah had allegedly tried to leave the country before his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>He praised the work of detectives, as well as the hospital staff who treated the boy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur detectives have worked tirelessly in this investigation since it commenced,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts are also with the hospital staff, and all of the other police involved in this tragic event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to media on Wednesday morning, Queensland Police Minister Dan Purdie said he was shocked by the death of the boy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything more tragic than the death of an innocent and vulnerable defenceless child,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur police stop at nothing to investigate these things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ullah was remanded in custody until the matter returns to court on October 26.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 with AAP<\/p>\n<p>Support is available from the
