Adelaide\u2019s injury woes could continue for at least another month, with the club\u2019s GM of Basketball Operations Matt Weston confirming Flynn Cameron would face another four to six weeks on the sidelines.<\/p>\n
Cameron has been sidelined with an ankle injury since the 36ers\u2019 season opener against Melbourne, and the club has since sought reinforcements with the inclusion of three-time NBL champion Corey Webster.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think each week you tick boxes, especially of an ankle, how you\u2019re recovering, how it\u2019s rehabbing. I think you\u2019re probably looking four to six more weeks, probably around that,\u201d Weston said of Cameron\u2019s return timeline.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut again, we just take it week by week. He\u2019s out of a boot. He\u2019s walking around. He was doing some layups today. He\u2019s doing stationary shooting. Again, next week, we\u2019ll see how he goes. You just want to take it week by week and make sure he\u2019s ticking those boxes off.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s far from an ideal situation for last year\u2019s runners-up, with Cameron, Isaac Humphries (knee) and Bul Kuol (ACL) all seemingly facing long spells on the sidelines.<\/p>\n
The 36ers have slipped to 2-3 on the season, with Humphries\u2019 presence dearly missed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Isaac Humphries is the one that they miss,\u201d Derek Rucker said on Moments That Mattered, presented by Mitsubishi Motors.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey just need his size, another alternative inside.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Weston said Humphries’ recovery would be slow and steady.<\/p>\n
\u201cPositive thing is he doesn\u2019t need surgery. So what we\u2019ve been doing now is de-loading him and then looking to build him back up,\u201d Weston continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis knee\u2019s, the structure of it \u2026 been battered around a bit. It\u2019s angry at the moment on him. It\u2019s causing him a lot of discomfort, not only when he\u2019s playing or training, but then when he\u2019s going home and he\u2019s trying to go upstairs.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, you\u2019ve got to think about quality of life as well. So, we\u2019re going to de-load him and then look to build him back up and sort of wrap him in cotton wool to look to get him back going.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s a matter of sort of weeks to what we could be looking at to having him get back and try and do something. We\u2019ll know more as we go along.\u201d<\/p>\n
