A new AI-made One Nation ad titled Coming Out has appeared on the party\u2019s social media \u2013 using a string of crude stereotypes and culture war cues to stir outrage, applause and confusion in equal measure.<\/p>\n
The low-effort clip opens outside a suburban home with a \u201cVote 1 Greens\u201d sign planted on the lawn before moving inside to a family dinner table. <\/p>\n
A father in a shirt emblazoned with a rainbow and the word \u201cyes\u201d asks his daughter to pass the nutritional yeast for his vegan meal. <\/p>\n
Their older son looks miserable. When his mother, wearing a blue wig, asks what\u2019s wrong, he blurts out: \u201cI can\u2019t do this anymore. Mum, dad I have something to tell you. I\u2019m conservative.\u201d<\/p>\n
What follows leaves little doubt about the ad\u2019s intent \u2013 rather than reacting with horror, the family appears relieved. <\/p>\n
The mother removes her blue wig to reveal bright orange hair styled like Pauline Hanson\u2019s and declares her love for the One Nation leader.<\/p>\n
The dad then announces he \u201cvoted no\u201d, an apparent reference to the 2017 same-sex marriage postal survey, which delivered a resounding Yes vote. <\/p>\n
The daughter reveals that she is actually a boy, announcing: \u201cI don\u2019t want to be a little girl anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
In one scene, a television broadcast styled as ABC News features a presenter declaring: \u201cwe should defund the ABC, I\u2019m sick of being bias\u201d. <\/p>\n
In another, a young African man holding a machete claims he \u201cshouldn\u2019t be on bail\u201d. <\/p>\n
A separate shot shows a man wearing what appears to be an explosives vest, who explains he should never have been allowed into the country. <\/p>\n
The ad ends with the slogan \u201cTake Victoria Back\u201d splashed across the screen.<\/p>\n
The bizarre clip targets familiar One Nation themes, including progressive politics, the ABC, crime, migration and gender identity.<\/p>\n
The comment section quickly filled with praise, ridicule and disbelief. <\/p>\n
\u201cBest political ad I have ever seen. It\u2019s a winner,\u201d one wrote.<\/p>\n
Another viewer, apparently oblivious to the purpose of the ad, asked why there was a Greens sign outside the house, adding an angry face emoji.<\/p>\n
Many of the replies were packed with grammatical errors and emojis, with one commenter asking if the comment section was satire.<\/p>\n
Not all the reaction was positive, even among apparent supporters. <\/p>\n
A handful questioned why the party had used AI at all, with responses including \u201cAI slop\u201d and \u201cSurely you could\u2019ve made with without AI\u201d.<\/p>\n
One supporter took issue with how the ad mocked vegetarianism, posting: \u201cThis is stupid. I\u2019m vegetarian and I\u2019ll be voting One Nation. So don\u2019t bag your supporters.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ad lands as One Nation sharpens its pitch in Victoria ahead of the state election. <\/p>\n
The party is positioning itself as the home of tougher laws, lower taxes and sharper culture-war politics, with a campaign built around crime, cost of living and hostility to Treaty and net-zero policies. <\/p>\n
Under the slogan \u201cVictoria, it\u2019s time to take our state back\u201d, One Nation is trying to tap discontent in outer suburban and regional seats while casting itself as the protest option for voters disillusioned with both Labor and the Liberals.<\/p>\n
