\n\tA new era is on the horizon for Tate McRae.<\/a> The Canadian pop star stopped by The Tonight Show on Wednesday (Oct. 7), where she talked about Taylor Swift<\/a> being a fan of \u201cTit for Tat,\u201d her upcoming \u201cHousewife\u201d <\/a>single and more. <\/p>\n

\n\tApparently, McRae didn\u2019t initially believe headlines about Swift gushing about her top five Billboard Hot 100 <\/a>hit last year, and she scrambled to find the clip of the pop supernova on social media.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was getting a whole bunch of texts and I was trying to find it. I couldn\u2019t really find it. I was like, \u2018What the hell? This must be real \u2014 trying to find proof,’\u201d she said as host Jimmy Fallon ribbed her about not watching the show.<\/p>\n

\n\tMcRae shared had no idea <\/a>Swift was aware of her work. \u201cI never talked to her or knew that she knew my music,\u201d she added. \u201cIt was a cool day. It was amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tT-Swift made the comments<\/a> about \u201cTit for Tat\u201d during an October 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show as she promoted her then newly released The Life of a Showgirl album.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh,\u00a0Tate McRae\u00a0has a great new song called \u2018Tit For Tat,\u2019 you gotta listen to it,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cLike, full volume, over and over again on repeat. It\u2019s just so good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 23-year-old is set to launch her next era with \u201cHousewife,\u201d which is slated to arrive next Thursday (Oct. 15). \u201cIt\u2019s kind of about a woman that can\u2019t be contained. We shot it in the South of France and it was so magical,\u201d she said of the song.<\/p>\n

\n\tMcRae believes her Tater Tots missed the boat on nuggets she\u2019s dropped about the single in recent months, pointing to her headlining set at Lollapalooza<\/a> over the summer. \u201cMy fans, in particular, we drop Easter eggs all the time, and they get none of them. They always catch onto things that are completely wrong,\u201d she said. \u201cThis was literally in my Lolla set, it said \u2018Housewife\u2019 when the set started.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMcRae\u2019s Lollapalooza show appeared to find her teasing a snippet of an upcoming song, and was most memorable for her golden dip to close out the Grant Park performance in August.<\/p>\n

\n\tTate McRae\u2019s last album, So Close to What, was released in February 2025. It topped the Billboard 200 <\/a>with 177,000 total album-equivalent units earned, according to Luminate.<\/p>\n
