Australian rock legend Angry Anderson<\/a> has been laid to rest. <\/p>\n

The Rose Tattoo frontman was farewelled by his friends, family, fellow musicians and Veterans MC brothers in a private memorial service at St Andrew\u2019s Cathedral in Sydney on October 9. <\/p>\n

Australian rock legend Gary \u2018Angry\u2019 Anderson has been laid to rest. \u00a0Instagram\/@Jimmybarnesofficial<\/p>\n

Australian cartoonist and friend of Anderson, Paul Zanetti, shared what happened during the ceremony in a detailed post on Facebook, writing: \u201cThere wasn\u2019t a dry eye among the gathering of defence veterans, bikers, musicians, industry colleagues, family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAngry led a larger-than-life life. The day\u2019s recurring theme was the extraordinary man behind the public persona: tough but kind, generous, empathetic, talented, brilliant, funny, silly, serious, self-educated and wise. <\/p>\n

\u201cA man unafraid to admit if he didn\u2019t know something, he set about learning it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He says that after the ceremony, his bandmates laid a Rose Tattoo flag over his coffin and carried him to the hearse, which then made its way to Anderson\u2019s final burial place \u201cled by the thunderous roar of dozens of Veterans MC motorcycles, giving their brother one final escort.\u201d <\/p>\n

Anderson\u2019s children, Roxy and Galen, gave a heartfelt speech at the ceremony to farewell the singer and father. <\/p>\n

Singer Jimmy Barnes<\/a> also shared a photo of Anderson\u2019s memorial service invite on Instagram, revealing the rock legend had been laid to rest.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe sent off Angry today. Lovely words from his children. He\u2019ll be sadly missed,\u201d the post read. <\/p>\n

Anderson passed away on September 21, with his bandmates making the announcement in a post to social media. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gary \u2018Angry\u2019 Anderson on the eve of Monday 21 September 2026, surrounded by his loved ones here in Australia,\u201d the statement<\/a> read.<\/p>\n

\u201cAngry was a devoted father, and much-loved member of his friends, bandmates and the wider music and entertainment community.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Anderson was hospitalised following a cardiac arrest<\/a> in early August.<\/p>\n

Anderson moved to Sydney in the min-1970s to join Rose Tattoo (pictured with bandmates Mark Evans, Bob Spender, Mick Arnold and Paul DeMarco). \u00a0Instagram\/@rosetattoo<\/p>\n

His hospitalisation forced Rose Tattoo to cancel the European leg of their One Last Ride tour.<\/p>\n

Anderson\u2019s biggest hit was the song Suddenly – a track inspired by his daughter\u2019s birth and used as the soundtrack to Scott and Charlene\u2019s wedding on Neighbours in 1987.<\/p>\n

The episode of the Australian soap was watched by more than 20 million people across the UK alone and about 2 million in Australia.<\/p>\n
