The Blockheads<\/a> are just 27 hours away from tools down on the most important space in their homes so far: the main bedroom and walk-in wardrobe.<\/p>\n

\ufeffSaturday morning begins with bacon and eggs courtesy of Ben<\/a> and the barbie and the warm breaky, plus some helpful courier work from Em, has everyone\ufeff feeling very warm and fuzzy about their friends in House 1.<\/p>\n

Four weeks in and their spirit is still just as bright as when they arrived! It’s a Block miracle!\ufeff<\/p>\n

Things aren’t so cheery down the other end of site, where Robby<\/a> is predicting his and Mat’s first proper meltdown over approximately 17 hours worth of painting.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAnd Sonny<\/a>‘s in a grump because he’s got the same amount to do, predicting 36 separate arguments with Alicia throughout the process.<\/p>\n

Things aren’t helped \ufeffwhen Alicia realises her furniture delivery is missing the ottoman for the end of her bed, putting her in a grump as well.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, some incredible customer service from GlobeWest saves the day.<\/p>\n

Bed construction, bright blue paint, last minute shopping and yes, a Sonny and Alicia disagreement, takes up the rest of Saturday and after the frantic Sunday morning cleaning, it’s officially week over.<\/p>\n

Say hello to Shaynna Blaza<\/a>, Darren Palmer<\/a> and Marty Fox<\/a>\ufeff, it’s judging time!\ufeff<\/p>\n

Emma and Ben<\/p>\n

House 1 are hoping the judges love their main bedroom just as much as they did last week’s ensuite… perhaps so much they can finally get a win on the board!<\/p>\n

The bedrooms are HUGE in these houses, and the sheer size knocks the judges off their feet.<\/p>\n

As is Emma and Ben’s skylight, which they deem the best of the season so far.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Two details leave judges horrified.<\/p>\n

Darren doesn’t love the styling of the bed\ufeff, saying it doesn’t feel sophisticated enough, and Marty notices that it actually comes with a hazard: the pendant lights, which he donks his head on.<\/p>\n

Shaynna was in a gushy mood, however.<\/p>\n

She praises Emma and Ben’s “eye for detail”, pointing out that their choice of artwork has lines that match up with the lines of their buffet seat.<\/p>\n

All three judges are blown away by the DIY bedhead.<\/p>\n

“It’s so elegant, so elevated and actually that would be very cost effective,” Darren says.<\/p>\n

Shaynna says that burgundy is a tough colo\ufeffur to pull off, but Emma and Ben have committed to do and consistently “nailed it”.<\/p>\n

Into the wardrobe, \ufeffMarty thinks Emma and Ben have been “so creative with the way they have applied their amenity”.<\/p>\n

Darren is struck by their use of different timbers, saying the room is “so beautifully measured and really thoroughly considered”.<\/p>\n

Shaynna thinks it is close to perfection, and Marty agrees. The only reason he won’t be giving them a perfect 10 is because of the new bump on his head.<\/p>\n

Han and Can<\/p>\n

Scotty’s trying out his roasting skills ahead of tomorrow night’s Comedy Roast Challenge, and we have to say… his material is pretty good!<\/p>\n

While Han and Can take his jokes in their stride… Can’s less enthused by Han calling their room “Smurf City”.<\/p>\n

And that bad mood is set to continue \ufeffafter Marty’s first words upon entering their room.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffI hate it,” he says, covering his face.<\/p>\n

“I actually hate it. I want to vomit. I’m great at selling, and not even I can sell this room.”<\/p>\n

\"EMBARGORough!\ufeff (Nine)<\/p>\n

Darren is a bit more diplomatic, labeling their blue paint “abrasive”.<\/p>\n

“It\ufeff actually is really throwing off everything we see in here. Thankfully, it’s very easy to fix and I would absolutely change it,” he explains.<\/p>\n

He likes so many of the elegant inclusions, but the blue is “like a punch in the face”, and unlike last week, it’s not wearing a velvet glove.<\/p>\n

Then the trio start an impromptu restyling session.<\/p>\n

They ditch some cushions and decide a darker blue would look great alongside the ocre oranges of the bedding.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffWith these tweaks, Marty reckons now he could sell it.<\/p>\n

In the walk-in robe, Darren and Marty agree it is stunning but Shaynna\ufeff is feeling an identity crisis.<\/p>\n

She advises Han and Can to ditch the Wes Anderson bright colours, because they “don’t have the eye for it”, but to lean more into the ’60s vibe of their ensuite going forward.<\/p>\n

Britt and Taz<\/p>\n

Surprising no one, Scotty launches straight into roasting Taz’s lack of reno knowledge. It’s a classic at this point.<\/p>\n

They may be major rookies, but this week they think they’ve delivered a “dream” room… and immediately, it seems the judges agree.<\/p>\n

“I just travelled in on a cloud, it’s so serene,” Darren says.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThey just keep throwing out compliments: it’s beautiful, heavenly, elevated, refined sophisticated… you get the picture!<\/p>\n

The room was almost perfect, until the judges spotted one detail.<\/p>\n

Darren is also really impressed by their layout, which has their bed central not only in the room but to the view out the window too.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”It’s so connected to nature,” he praises.<\/p>\n

Shaynna thinks their choice of artwork is spot on\ufeff, as well as the textures around the room.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Although, she has a few issues, calling out the “ratty” plants and “stupid” pendant lights as adding nothing to the space.<\/p>\n

The walk-in robe earns a “yum” from Darren.<\/p>\n

In fact, Britt and Taz were on their way to a perfect 10… until Shaynna looks up and sees the ceiling paint job and Marty realises their drawer handles are upside down.<\/p>\n

Woops.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Still, Marty says this is the easiest sell of the day \ufeff\u2013 big praise!<\/p>\n

Sonny and Alicia<\/p>\n

The judges didn’t like the layout changes of House 4’s ensuite last week, but they’re hoping that they’ll come around once they see the entire completed main suite.<\/p>\n

It’s off to a good start, with Darren giving Sonny and Alicia praise for the best lighting so far today.<\/p>\n

\ufeffMarty feels right at home, praising the room as warm and sophisticated.<\/p>\n

He even takes a leaf out of Darren’s book and cannot resist touching the velvet curtains.<\/p>\n

Darren thinks all the details, from the pinstripe wallpaper \u2013 which Alicia designed herself! \u2013 to the checkered bedding, give it an ‘elevated country’ vibe.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Shaynna thinks the entrance is “corporate”, or like a dated hotel and in the bedroom she’s critical of the small rug and messy \ufeffcords.<\/p>\n

Then Darren sees something Alicia did not notice… they’ve placed the secret door to their wardrobe upside down.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”Now that you’ve pointed it out, can’t unsee it!” Shaynna reacted.<\/p>\n

There is a lot of empty space in the bedroom that Darren says could’ve been used to create more storage in the wardrobe.<\/p>\n

…And once they enter the robe, they all believe that even more strongly.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffShaynna calls the spatial planning an experiment that “has failed” while Marty likens it to cookie cutter high-density housing in central Melbourne.<\/p>\n

“This is a disaster,” he concludes.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Robby and Mat<\/p>\n

Mat is proud of his and Rob’s efforts this week, judges be damned. But that’s not really how the show works, Mat!<\/p>\n

\ufeffImmediately, their unique textured paint job gets kudos from Darren, who says the mates are managing their time very well in the competition.<\/p>\n

His smile sticks around as he highlights the room’s four-post bed.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffI just think they feel definitely country, I love that we’ve got timber… the colour palette here feels very Australiana to me and that in my opinion is a big plus,” he says.<\/p>\n

She also doesn’t like the rug underneath which she believes should be much bigger.<\/p>\n

\ufeffIt’s been a big week for Bromley artwork, but Robby and Mat may have overdone it with at least four plus cushions.\ufeff<\/p>\n

“\ufeffIt dilutes the impact,” Shaynna says.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThis is the only bedroom without a fireplace, which Marty believes will make it stick in buyer’s minds \u2013 but not in a good way.<\/p>\n

But on the bright side, they also have the largest wardrobe of the day.<\/p>\n

The amount of space gets a huge tick, but Marty thinks it would’ve benefited from an island.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Overall, the entire main suite really\ufeff impresses the real estate expert, who says it’s “hard to fault” as a package.<\/p>\n

Scotty starts to tally the numbers and IT’S FINALLY HAPPENED! We have our first 10 of the season!<\/p>\n

Congratulations are in order for Britt and Taz, who get a perfect score from Darren.\ufeff<\/p>\n

In the end, it secures them the win \u2013 just half a point ahead of Emma and Ben.<\/p>\n

This week, everyone’s blown the suggested $15,000 budget… but Britt and Taz did it by just $75, making them the CommBank budget winners as well.<\/p>\n

It’s officially a $30,000 week for House 3!<\/p>\n

What a week! There’s no slowing down either, as the group take on their \ufeffliving and dining rooms.<\/p>\n
