Aussie comedian Judith Lucy<\/a> has shared an update on her cancer journey after learning she needs to undergo a double mastectomy. <\/p>\n

Lucy, 58, shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed throwing up a peace sign and smiling at the camera. The words \u201cfun with cancer\u201d are written across the photo. <\/p>\n

Aussie comedian Judith Lucy has shared an update on her cancer journey after learning she needs to undergo a double mastectomy. \u00a0Instagram\/@Judithlucy<\/p>\n

In the caption, she revealed the snap was taken moments after she learned she would need to have both of her breasts removed in her battle against breast cancer. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo this was me last Friday when I heard that it was now a mastectomy,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd yes, it\u2019s a bit of a peekaboo shot so that\u2019s my breast waving goodbye guys! <\/p>\n

\u201cMy jugs and I have been pretty overwhelmed by the response so THANK YOU and again, GET THEM CHECKED LADIES.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t feel my cancer so without a mammogram I would have been screwed!\u201d<\/p>\n

She shared the update just one week after revealing her diagnosis in a video posted to her Instagram account.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019ve been wondering why I haven\u2019t been posting much personal stuff the last couple of weeks. Here\u2019s your answer. Strap in,\u201d Lucy captioned a video of herself filmed in her home.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi Australia, a little not-so-fun update from me. Yesterday three weeks ago I went to Moonee Ponds to pick up yet two more syringes of yet another stranger\u2019s turds,\u201d Lucy began an anecdote about how she discovered she had cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd in fact the nurse even said to me, \u2018Gosh, it\u2019s unusual that you haven\u2019t had a better response to this.\u2019 So already I was feeling pretty lucky.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn my way home I got an email from Breast Screen Australia telling me that my mammogram result was a bit weird. And I take this opportunity to say ladies, for the love of god, keep up with your mammograms.<\/p>\n

Last week, Judith Lucy revealed she\u2019d been diagnosed with breast cancer. \u00a0Instagram\/@officialjudithlucy<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyways, long story short, I\u2019ve got breast cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lucy said the cancer was in its early stages and said it was non-aggressive but she will undergo a double mastectomy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t want to say anything about it until I knew what was going on. I went in last Friday for a lumpectomy and a doctor called \u2013 I\u2019m not making this up \u2013 Doctor Fun found more cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we have gone from a lumpectomy to a mastectomy on Friday week. I said, \u2018While you\u2019re there, let\u2019s get rid of the other one.\u2019<\/p>\n

Lucy thought it was rather ironic that she\u2019d just released health and wellness book Well Well Well … My Wellness Odyssey from Psychics to Psychedelics and Beyond. \u00a0Instagram\/@officialjudithlucy<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause if I do say so myself, I have had 40 years of large and spectacular breasts. You had your chance fellas,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I think I\u2019m quite fine with going bra-free for my last chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lucy also addressed what she called \u201cthe elephant in the room\u201d \u2013 the fact that her cancer diagnosis coincided with the release of her health and wellness book Well Well Well … My Wellness Odyssey from Psychics to Psychedelics and Beyond.<\/p>\n
