Health authorities have issued an urgent warning after a dangerously high dose batch of ecstasy tablets were found in circulation in NSW.<\/p>\n
The warnings relate to several pills with distinctive branding, including tablets shaped like video game characters from Super Mario and Angry Birds.<\/p>\n
NSW Health warns that the pills contain high doses of MDMA, otherwise known as ecstasy, which can pose extreme risks to health and even life.<\/p>\n
The authority warns that some of the tablets in circulation contain as much as 268mg of the drug, posing a particularly high risk if users re-dose.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou are at increased risk of harm if you take multiple MDMA tablets or capsules or take a higher-dose MDMA tablet,\u201d NSW Health warned.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you\u2019re not feeling the effects yet, don\u2019t re-dose. High-dose MDMA use has been linked to death and other serious harms.\u201d<\/p>\n
Authorities have warned about six specific tablets which are in circulation., which are:
– A yellow skull \u2018MYBRAND\u2019 tablet containing 268mg of MDMA<\/p>\n
– A peach-coloured Mario tablet containing 190mg of MDM<\/p>\n
– A red \u2018Angry Birds\u2019 tablet containing 181mg of MDMA<\/p>\n
– A peach\/pink \u2018Facebook\u2019 logo tablet containing 174mg of MDMA<\/p>\n
– A yellow \u2018Breitling\u2019 tablet containing 173mg of MDMA<\/p>\n
– A yellow \u2018Route 66\u2019 tablet containing 173mg of MDMA<\/p>\n
What to look out for<\/p>\n
Signs that an individual may have taken a high dose of the drug include feeling hot and sweaty, a racing heart or pulse, rigid muscles, confusion or agitation and vomiting.<\/p>\n
