{"id":926115,"date":"2026-10-13T02:26:14","date_gmt":"2026-10-13T02:26:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/926115\/"},"modified":"2026-10-13T02:26:14","modified_gmt":"2026-10-13T02:26:14","slug":"supercars-bathurst-1000-crash-prompts-chaz-mostert-chassis-swap-for-gold-coast-500","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/926115\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars: Bathurst 1000 crash prompts Chaz Mostert chassis swap for Gold Coast 500"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-330-Chaz-Mostert\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CHAZ Mostert<\/a> will shift into Walkinshaw TWG Racing\u2019s spare chassis following the heavy crash that took him out of the Bathurst 1000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mostert\u2019s Mobil 1 Optus Supra suffered considerable damage when it crunched the wall at Forrest\u2019s Elbow on Lap 156 on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a short turnaround to the Gold Coast 500 on October 23-25, Toyota\u2019s homologation team has elected to deploy its spare rig for the Supercars finals series opener.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a move which reunites Mostert with WR 029. He started 2025 in that chassis \u2013 then assembled as a Ford Mustang \u2013 before reverting to WR 028 mid-season while \u2018029\u2019 was sidelined in preparation to be converted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-18-scale-2017-gold-coast-55-ford-falcon-fgx-mostert-owen-model?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/ACD18F17K.jpg\"\/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gold Coast will be WR 029\u2019s first race meeting in Supra form.
