As revealed by Speedcafe earlier today<\/a>, Cooper Murray has parted company with Erebus Motorsport to join PremiAir Racing, replacing Declan Fraser.<\/p>\nErebus has meanwhile confirmed Jarrod Hughes as Murray\u2019s replacement.<\/p>\n
The moves come ahead of the Gold Coast 500 on October 23-25 as both teams look towards the 2027 season.<\/p>\n
\u201cJarrod has shown us enough throughout his time with Erebus to know there is something there worth investing in,\u201d said Erebus Motorsport CEO Barry Ryan.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is about giving him the chance to experience Supercars, learn the car and see how he handles the step up, but we\u2019re also looking at Jarrod as a longer-term prospect for Erebus.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s worked hard to get to this point, and we\u2019re excited to see what he can do with the opportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor Cooper, the move to PremiAir gives him another opportunity to gain experience and continue developing as a driver. We\u2019re confident both guys will benefit from the changes.\u201d<\/p>\n
PremiAir Racing team principal Roland Dane acknowledged Fraser\u2019s contribution to the team.<\/p>\n
Fraser made his full-time Supercars return this year, but has been out-performed by his younger and less experienced teammate Jayden Ojeda.<\/p>\n
Dane said the team could not pass up the opportunity to sign Murray.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re grateful to Declan for his efforts this year in the team, but we want to prepare ourselves for 2027 as early as possible,\u201d said Dane.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe opportunity to put Cooper into the car now cannot be passed up as it will only benefit our program development for next season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wish Declan the best for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Peter Xiberras, PremiAir Racing team owner, added: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have Cooper joining us.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to the balance of the year and will have more information to share in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n
General Motors\u2019 Supercars program manager Simon McNamara hailed the collaborative effort between teams.<\/p>\n
