The Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> are two wins away from the World Series.<\/p>\n

None of the players are focused on the offseason.<\/p>\n

The front office may be looking ahead while keeping its main focus on the task at hand: Winning the NLCS against the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Still, the Brewers will have several decisions to make this upcoming winter, including what to do with their All-Star closer.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter<\/a> tabbed Trevor Megill as a potential trade candidate due to Milwaukee’s previous history when it comes to trading away closers.<\/p>\n

“With a fastball that touches triple digits and a knuckle curve that generated a 46.5 percent whiff rate, Megill was one of baseball’s most dominant closers, converting 30 of 33 save chances.<\/p>\n

“Over the past three seasons, he has a 2.61 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 10.4 K\/9 with 81 saves in 161 appearances, and the Brewers have a history of flipping closers before they get expensive after dealing Josh Hader and Devin Williams,” Reuter wrote.<\/p>\n

The Brewers traded Hader to the San Diego Padres<\/a> in 2022. Milwaukee sent Devin Williams to the New York Yankees<\/a> before the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Megill is eligible for arbitration and due for a significant raise. He earned just $4.7 million this season.<\/p>\n

By the time the 32-year-old becomes a free agent in 2028, the Brewers may regret losing Megill for nothing.<\/p>\n

Would it be better for them to trade him now and get something of value in return? It will be a hard decision for the Brew Crew, as Megill is one of the top closers in the Majors.<\/p>\n
