While not competing full-time in that span, he maintained his presence on the track, starting the past two Indianapolis 500s for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/dreyer-reinbold-racing\/36516\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Dreyer &amp; Reinbold Racing<\/a> (DRR). He served as team-mates with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/ryan-hunter-reay\/829273\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ryan Hunter-Reay<\/a> in 2025 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/conor-daly\/829879\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Conor Daly<\/a> in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey\u2019s\u00a0IndyCar career began in 2017 before he completed his first full-time season with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/meyer-shank-racing\/39185\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Meyer Shank Racing<\/a> in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his diagnosis, he continues to look forward to being present for the 2027\u00a0IndyCar season, including in a ride for the 2027 Indianapolis 500.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nStatement from Jack Harvey\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy entire career has been about fighting for what\u2019s next. The next opportunity. The next chance to prove myself. The next time I could get back in the car and show what I\u2019m capable of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere have been moments when the path forward was obvious, and plenty when it wasn\u2019t. I\u2019ve had to earn opportunities, fight to keep them, and learn how to keep moving when things didn\u2019t go the way I planned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut through all of it, I\u2019ve never stopped believing that there was something worth fighting for.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLife has delivered a new fight to my doorstep. I have recently been diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy goals for 2027 have not changed. I plan to be on the grid in St. Pete and strapping back into a race car this May in preparation for the Indianapolis 500.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am receiving excellent care and support from the team around me, my family, friends,\u00a0DRR, FOX, IndyCar, and many more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never backed away from a challenge in my life and this circumstance is no different.
