A Miami jury on Tuesday found Tyreek Hill liable for two counts of battery but not liable for the eight remaining claims made by Lakeeta Vaccaro \u2013 ending the high-profile civil trial involving the NFL<\/a> wide receiver and his estranged wife.<\/p>\n

Hill, who has played for the NFL\u2019s Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins, was found liable for two counts of battery \u2013 one stemming from an incident in January 2024, and another from April 2025. The jury awarded Vaccaro $500,000 in compensatory damages but did not award her punitive damages.<\/p>\n

The jury found Hill, 32, not liable for eight other counts that included battery, assault and continuing domestic violence.<\/p>\n

The trial involved allegations of abuse made by Vaccaro, 30, who on the stand described instances in which Hill allegedly pulled her hair and \u201ctreated me like I was, just, a man.\u201d The jury was also shown a photo Vaccaro took of markings on her chest that she says were made during an argument between the pair. Hill took the stand last week and mostly denied what he called \u201cfalse allegations\u201d made by his estranged wife, while saying in one instance he shoved Vaccaro and \u201ccreated a hole in the wall.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hill embraced one of his attorneys and shook hands with others following the verdict before leaving the courtroom by himself.<\/p>\n

Vaccaro\u2019s lawyer, Paul Schwiep, had asked the jury to \u201crestore her dignity\u201d and was seeking $8m in damages from Hill.<\/p>\n

\u201cMoney doesn\u2019t undo the harm, but it\u2019s just how our civil justice system works,\u201d Schwiep said.<\/p>\n

Christi Bright said Hill was thankful after the trial.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr Hill was very pleased that he was able to get his story out and to be able to tell the world what he\u2019s not been able to speak about,\u201d Bright told reporters. \u201cHe\u2019s very grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
