Almost 100 luxury Range Rover SUVs have been recalled across Australia over a potentially deadly manufacturing defect that could weaken the vehicles\u2019 structure in a crash.<\/p>\n
Jaguar Land Rover Australia has issued a recall for 94 Range Rover Sport SV vehicles manufactured between 2023 and 2026 after identifying possible cracks in their rear subframes.<\/p>\n
According to a recall notice published by the federal government\u2019s vehicle safety regulator on Wednesday, the cracks could worsen over time and compromise the vehicles\u2019 structural strength.<\/p>\n
The defect could increase the risk of serious injury or death to occupants in the event of a rear-end collision.<\/p>\n
\u201cDue to a manufacturing issue, cracks may be present in the rear subframe,\u201d the recall notice states.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cracks may worsen over time and weaken the vehicle\u2019s structure.\u201d<\/p>\n
The recall, identified as campaign D166, was published on October 14.<\/p>\n
Jaguar Land Rover Australia will contact owners of affected vehicles to arrange inspections.<\/p>\n
If cracks are identified, repairs will be carried out free of charge.<\/p>\n
The recall notice does not specify whether any crashes or injuries have been linked to the defect.<\/p>\n
