Comedian Judith Lucy has fallen and injured her head as a result of \u201ccoping\u201d with her recent cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n
The stalwart of Australian comedy revealed earlier this month she has breast cancer and on Friday underwent a double mastectomy.<\/p>\n
But on Wednesday, Lucy also shared she had lost her balance while drinking and taking sleeping pills in the immediate aftermath of the diagnosis.<\/p>\n
The social media post was combined with a picture of her bandaged forehead and bruised eye socket, captioned \u201ccancer and coping?\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously the takeaway is don\u2019t combine wine and pills \u2026 when you have cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lucy has been sharing her cancer journey on social media.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I wanted to own the fact that while I\u2019m currently doing okay with the cancer situation (I have no doubt that the roller coaster of emotions will continue) this is a photo from an \u2018event\u2019 that happened nine days after my diagnosis,\u201d she said in Wednesday\u2019s post.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt looks a little like my doctor said, \u2018You have cancer\u2019, and then I decided to punch myself in the face. Not an unreasonable response but it\u2019s actually the result of combining booze and sleeping pills and then doing the tango with a small table.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen my surgeon removed the bandage she said comfortingly, \u2018It just blends in with the other lines on your forehead.\u2019 Thank god my modelling career isn\u2019t over.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lucy shared with fans earlier this month she had been diagnosed with an early stage, non-aggressive cancer three weeks prior, and had undergone a lumpectomy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI take this opportunity to say ladies, for the love of god, keep up with your mammograms,\u201d she said earlier this month.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I do say so myself, I have had 40 years of large and spectacular breasts. You had your chance fellas.<\/p>\n
