{"id":933351,"date":"2026-10-19T04:22:14","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T04:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/933351\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T04:22:14","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T04:22:14","slug":"supercars-anton-de-pasquale-reflects-on-bathurst-1000-loss-finals-focus-gold-coast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/933351\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars: Anton De Pasquale reflects on Bathurst 1000 loss, finals focus Gold Coast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1264-Anton-De Pasquale\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ANTON De Pasquale<\/a> has fronted up in candid fashion as he and Team 18 look to move on from their Bathurst 1000 nightmare and get stuck into the Supercars finals series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After running out of fuel on the last lap while leading the Great Race, De Pasquale heads into this week\u2019s Gold Coast 500 as the seventh seed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three of the 10 finalists will be eliminated from title contention by the end of Surfers Paradise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re obviously on that cut line now so hopefully by the end of the weekend we\u2019re still into it and make it to Sandown with eyes on the final four,\u201d said De Pasquale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 31-year-old described the mood at Mount Waverley as what is to be expected given the circumstances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe reset our goals as quick as possible, which is obviously this weekend,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe mood is not great but everyone has still got their eyes on winning some surfboards here and still having a good weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Unpacking an Epic Bathurst 1000 | The Undercut<\/p>\n<p>THE Bathurst 1000 once again turned out an all-time classic race, with all of the winners and losers put under the microscope in this episode of The Undercut!<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reflecting on the agonising last lap at Mount Panorama as his DeWalt Camaro ground to a halt, De Pasquale said: \u201cIt was pretty shit. It\u2019s exactly what you\u2019d imagine it is.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cStill obviously there\u2019s a lot of moments through the day and as a team, 12 months on, to be in a position to win that race and execute through the day, drivers and the crew and everything, is still something to be proud of. Obviously we don\u2019t have anything to show for it but there\u2019s still a lot of good things to take from it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He insists regrouping now won\u2019t be an issue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve got a team full of people who love being at the racetrack.
