Two months after Miranda Kerr sent the internet into a frenzy when she revealed she eats bison instead of egg for breakfast, the Australian supermodel is setting the record straight on the real reason behind her unconventional diet. <\/p>\n

In August, Kerr appeared on former US reality star Kristin Cavallari\u2019s podcast, Let\u2019s Be Honest, where she opened up why she chooses to only eat non-mass-produced meats like venison, bison, and lamb and avoids eggs, dairy, wheat and even common vegetables like kale. <\/p>\n

In an interview with Stellar podcast Something To Talk About, the 43-year-old clarified her strict diet is due to a condition called proctitis, an inflammation of the inner lining of the rectum.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was saying this is what I do for me because I\u2019ve had my blood taken and I\u2019ve had issues for \u2013 oh my goodness, since Hart [her eight-year-old son] was a little boy,\u201d she told podcast host Sarrah Le Marquand.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had proctitis. It\u2019s an inflammatory bowel thing, so I have to be really specific about what I eat. Certain things inflame me. That doesn\u2019t mean it inflames everyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor instance, my kids eat eggs. Wow \u2026 amazing, right?\u201d she laughed. <\/p>\n

Kerr said she wasn\u2019t at all shocked by how quickly her comments went viral. <\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was kind of comical. I have been in the industry for so long that I wasn\u2019t surprised by it. I was just fascinated that people were so interested in it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat works for me doesn\u2019t necessarily work for everyone else. That was very important in the context of what was being said. [Cavallari] was like, \u2018What do you eat for breakfast? Egg?\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018No, I actually don\u2019t.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be so much easier if I could [say yes], let me tell you. Because I really did enjoy eggs. I miss eggs. So there you go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kerr, a mum to four boys, also reflected on nearing her 10-year wedding anniversary with husband and Snapchat CEO, Evan Spiegel.<\/p>\n

The couple share sons Hart, eight, Myles, seven, and Pierre, two. Kerr co-parents her eldest son Flynn, 15, with ex-husband and actor Orlando Bloom.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still get butterflies in my stomach when I think about [Spiegel]. I\u2019m getting teary now,\u201d the model told Stellar.<\/p>\n

\u201cThinking about how we still have that deep love and respect for each other, and that fondness, 10 years after being married. Next year will be 13 years together.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody\u2019s perfect. Of course we annoy each other. Of course we get on each other\u2019s nerves. \u201cWe just talk about it. One of the main ingredients for us really working so well is that we both want to evolve, and grow every day into a better person than what we were yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year marks 20 years since Kerr hit the runway at her first Victoria\u2019s Secret fashion show in 2006.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember that moment like it was yesterday,\u201d she reflected.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was excited and really grateful to be there. I definitely had butterflies in my stomach. I remember feeling quite playful, enjoying the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat first show, I remember walking out and saying to myself, \u2018Just enjoy the music. Have fun with it\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
