UFC Edmonton went down last Saturday night (Oct. 17, 2026) inside Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, leaving several fighters feeling the post-fight blues. Among them was Kyle Nelson, who was knocked out in 27 seconds by UFC newcomer Cristian Perez (see it again here).

And Kyle Daukaus, who was also stopped in the opening frame by Marc-Andre Barriault (highlights here). And let’s not forget about Nate Landwehr, who was knocked out for the fourth straight time, this time at the hands of Mandel Nallo (see it here). But which fighter is suffering from the worst post-fight hangover, now a few days removed from the show

Coming into his main event fight against Mike Malott, Buckley was hoping to snap his two-fight losing streak and earn his first win for the first time in two years. During fight week, “New Mansa” took a rather odd approach, refusing to shake Dana White’s hand at the weigh ins, and then refusing to answer any questions during an interview. I guess it was it was to let everyone know he was fully locked in.

As it turns out, he wasn’t locked in enough.

He did have a pretty decent opening round in which he came out rather aggressive, going blow-for-blow with the hometown favorite, clipping him on occasions. In round two, he came out pretty fired up and tried to take it to Malott, who ultimately managed to clip “New Mansa” right on the chin with a perfectly-placed knee that knocked his mouthpiece out and sent him crashing to the canvas, in the process.

And just like that, Buckley suffered his third straight defeat, putting him in a deep hole that will be hard to climb out of.

“The fight didn’t go my way, not at all,” Buckley said post-fight. “There’s a lot of expectations, man, for me to go out there and knock Malott out. But at the end of the day, people were entertained, people enjoyed the show.”

”Dang boy. I know I wasn’t laid out like that for real,” he added while reacting to watching the replay. “That gotta be bulls—. That’s got to be AI.”

It wasn’t AI, it was very real. And Buckley’s reality is now that he is on the longest losing streak of his combat career which will likely take him out of the Top 10.

Buckley will now have to go back to the drawing board, perhaps make some changes, and see if he can get back to his winning ways. As far as who he can face next, there are a few options, in particular a showdown against Daniel Rodriguez, who came back after a year-long layoff following a stint in a Mexican jail to face Uros Medic, who stopped him in just 30 seconds (see it here).

If that fight doesn’t work, another option could be to face the loser of the upcoming bout between the aforementioned Uros Medic and Kevin Holland, who are set to face off at UFC 334 next month.

We have a couple of options, so who would you like to see Buckley face next?
