Aldi recorded the highest average rating in WA, with its 43 stores averaging 4.15 stars.<\/p>\n
Woolworths was close behind on 4.10 stars across 106 stores, while Coles averaged 4.04 stars across 100 stores.<\/p>\n
Despite leading the local comparison, WA was the lowest-rated State or Territory in which Aldi operates. Queensland had the highest average at 4.32 stars.<\/p>\n
Aldi\u2019s best-rated WA store was Northam, which scored 4.33 stars from 375 reviews.<\/p>\n
One shopper described it as their \u201cgo to shop monthly as we live 160kms away\u201d.<\/p>\n
Byford Aldi was close behind on 4.32 stars, with a customer praising the \u201cgreat shopping experience\u201d and saying the fruit and vegetables were good and prices competitive.<\/p>\n
Beeliar Aldi, rated 4.28 stars, also received praise for its staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe staff here are always helpful and go out of their way. My favourite Aldi store,\u201d one reviewer wrote.<\/p>\n
But not every Aldi store delivered the same experience.<\/p>\n
Mirrabooka was WA\u2019s lowest-rated Aldi, with 3.96 stars from 760 reviews, making it the fifth-lowest-rated Aldi nationally.<\/p>\n
Thornlie was next on 3.99 stars from 336 reviews, making it the ninth-worst nationally.<\/p>\n
Checkout arrangements were a recurring frustration among shoppers.<\/p>\n
At Mirrabooka, one reviewer said they were surprised there were no self-service checkouts.<\/p>\n
At Thornlie, a shopper complained that items normally available at Aldi were missing and self-service checkouts were \u201calways closed off\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorst Aldi I\u2019ve ever been to,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n
Other customers complained about queues and unavailable checkouts at Waikiki, Busselton, Southern River and Joondalup.<\/p>\n

Woolworths Perth Airport topped the WA rankings for all three supermarket chains, earning 4.46 stars from 589 reviews.<\/p>\n
The result placed it third nationally among Woolworths stores.<\/p>\n
Shoppers praised the store\u2019s cleanliness, stock levels, layout and staff.<\/p>\n
One reviewer described it as \u201calways clean tidy lots of stock and clear aisles\u201d, while praising employees for being friendly and extremely helpful.<\/p>\n
Another said: \u201cI have never had a bad experience at this store. Always well stocked, clean and tidy.\u201d<\/p>\n
The store\u2019s spacious layout and carpark also earnt favourable mentions.<\/p>\n
Woolworths Inglewood and Mt Pleasant were next in the WA rankings, both rated at 4.36 stars.<\/p>\n
But Cottesloe was the chain\u2019s lowest-rated WA store, with 3.76 stars from 270 reviews.<\/p>\n
Complaints included the quality and range of fresh produce, as well as customer service.<\/p>\n
One shopper said the \u201cquality of fresh fruit and veg is poor and offerings limited\u201d, adding that baked goods were sometimes frozen when displayed.<\/p>\n
Another complained about waiting at the deli counter while staff failed to help, followed by finding no one at the customer service desk.<\/p>\n
Warwick, rated 3.80 stars, and Booragoon, on 3.81, rounded out Woolworths\u2019 three lowest-rated WA stores.<\/p>\n
At Warwick, shoppers complained about rude or dismissive service, with one describing a staff member as \u201csuper rude\u201d after asking for assistance.<\/p>\n

Its highest-rated WA store was Currambine with 4.34 stars from 271 reviews \u2014 enough to place it seventh nationally among 830 Coles stores.<\/p>\n
One shopper praised the store\u2019s \u201cgreat produce in store with ample parking available\u201d.<\/p>\n
Albany Orana was the second-highest-rated Coles in WA on 4.28 stars.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe staff are amazing, no matter how busy they are, they will stop and help you,\u201d one customer wrote.<\/p>\n
Tom Price, Northam, Byford and Busselton also featured among the chain\u2019s top-rated WA stores.<\/p>\n
Shoppers at those stores praised helpful staff, cleanliness, the range of products and parking.<\/p>\n
Coles Kununurra was the chain\u2019s lowest-rated WA store, scoring 3.72 stars from 701 reviews.<\/p>\n
Checkout arrangements were a major gripe.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo manned checkouts, prices don\u2019t match at the self checkouts,\u201d one shopper wrote.<\/p>\n
Another said: \u201cI can\u2019t believe they have zero staffed checkouts.\u201d<\/p>\n
Narrogin and Brighton Butler were next-lowest, both on 3.76 stars.<\/p>\n
At Brighton Butler, one reviewer complained that the shelves were in such poor order that it was difficult not to notice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe shelves are a mess, not something I\u2019d normally even notice in a shop but that\u2019s how bad it is,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n
Maylands, North Armadale and Gosnells also featured among Coles\u2019 lowest-rated WA stores.<\/p>\n
Their reviews included complaints about click-and-collect orders, limited choice, missing price labels and long waits for staffed checkouts.<\/p>\n
At Gosnells, one shopper described customers waiting with full trolleys while only one register was operating near the kiosk.<\/p>\n
