{"id":935935,"date":"2026-10-21T08:14:23","date_gmt":"2026-10-21T08:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/935935\/"},"modified":"2026-10-21T08:14:23","modified_gmt":"2026-10-21T08:14:23","slug":"tga-recalls-common-cold-and-flu-ingredient-over-anaphylaxis-risk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/935935\/","title":{"rendered":"TGA recalls common cold and flu ingredient over anaphylaxis risk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A herb found in dozens of complementary cold and flu supplements will no longer be classified as a low-risk ingredient over links to anaphylaxis, including one reported death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New products containing Andrographis paniculata will not be included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods as listed medicines, the TGA says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For existing supplements, companies were given until mid-October to voluntarily remove the products from the market by recall or not restocking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cListed medicines are generally lower-risk products.
