<\/p>\n Bronx, N.Y. \u2013 Fordham fans got their first look at the 2026-27 men’s basketball team and it’s safe to say they liked what they saw. Three Rams scored in double figures, led by 16 from redshirt sophomore Abass Bodija<\/a>, as Fordham defeated UMBC, 87-67, in an exhibition game in the historic Rose Hill Gym.

\nAlso scoring in double figures for Fordham were senior Lateef Patrick, Jr.<\/a>, who netted 14 points to go with six rebounds, and sophomore Kelvin Odih<\/a> added ten points, hitting all five of his field goals attempts, and four boards.
\n\u00a0
\nThe game as close through much of the first half with Fordham taking a 46-40 lead at the break thanks to a buzzer-beating three from Bodija.
\n\u00a0
\nThe Rams came out string in the second half, outscoring the Retrievers 8-2 over the first five minutes to open a 54-42 lead following an Odih jumper and Fordham kept the lead in double figures the rest of the way.
