Tomorrow, Friday October 23, anyone in Vienna, Austria, can step onto a tennis court, hit a ball, and walk away with a cinematic super slow motion clip of themselves, captured by a camera robot at up to 1,000 frames per second. It is free, there is no registration, and you just stop by.

We are calling it Your Shot, and the idea is simple. Red carpet events have the Glambot, that robotic arm that swings past celebrities and turns a half-second pose into a dreamy slow motion moment. We built one for tennis – and call it Grand Slambot. On Friday, from 1 to 5pm, a Bolt Jr high-speed camera robot carrying a Pixboom Spark will be waiting at the Wiener Athletiksport Club in the Prater.

How it works

You show up, you get a racket in your hand, and you hit a ball while the Grand Slambot sweeps past you in a repeatable, pre-programmed move. The Spark records the moment at roughly 1,000 frames per second, which stretches a split second of impact into several seconds of footage: the ball compressing on the strings, the racket flexing, your face doing whatever faces do at the moment of contact. Afterwards, you receive a QR code, and once the clip is processed you download it and share it wherever you like.

No tennis skills are required. The robot does the hard part, and a slightly awkward swing in super slow motion looks at least as good as a perfect one. Children and adults are both welcome, and if you are a member of the club, bring your friends.

Your Shot is part of a bigger project. CineD and MZed are producing a free course on high-speed filmmaking in partnership with Pixboom, the company behind the Spark, and Friday doubles as the shoot for the lesson on sports and motion control. Our production partner MXR Productions turns the court into a real set for the day: the Bolt Jr with its own motion control operator, a camera crane, an ARRI ALEXA 35 for the behind-the-scenes, and proper lighting. In other words, this is a working high-speed production that you get to walk into and take part in.

For us, the day answers a question we have been circling for months. Cameras like the Spark have moved cinema-grade slow motion from six-figure rental packages to something a small crew can set up on a tennis court, and we wanted to show what that looks like in practice rather than on a spec sheet. We tested a beta unit of the camera earlier this year, and Friday is the first time we put the production version to work in front of an audience.

By taking part, you agree that the footage may appear in the course and in the campaign around it. Your own clip is yours to keep and share.

Friday, October 23, from 1 to 5pm, at the Wiener Athletiksport Club (WAC), Rustenschacherallee 9, 1020 Vienna, a short walk from the Prater Hauptallee. Entry is free and no registration is needed, just come by during the afternoon. For more information on the camera, please visit the Pixboom website.

Come by on Friday, hit a ball, and claim your shot. Who do you want to see in super slow motion? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments below!

Disclaimer: This event is part of a paid collaboration between Pixboom and CineD & MZed. We are creating a free high-speed filmmaking course, and the tennis event will be one part of the final course. The free course will be made available during 2027.

Tomorrow, Friday October 23, anyone in Vienna, Austria, can step onto a tennis court, hit a ball, and…

[565
64,63,227039,5946,503672,190320,503674,503670,503671,218210,85,747,34187,503673
post-936900","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tennis","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-bolt","tag-event","tag-high-speed-filmmaking","tag-motion-control","tag-mxr-productions","tag-mzed","tag-pixboom-spark","tag-slow-motion","tag-sports","tag-tennis","tag-vienna","tag-your-shot
["GET
![""]("https://www.newsbeep.com/au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Your_Shot_Article_16x9-900x506.jpg")
Why we are doing this

![""]("https://www.newsbeep.com/au/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pixboom_feature-900x506.jpg")
The Pixboom Spark is a remarkably capable high speed camera, and CineD and MZed are creating a high-speed filmmaking course with it which will be available freely for everyone. When and where
