{"id":93798,"date":"2025-08-25T04:05:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T04:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/93798\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T04:05:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T04:05:14","slug":"sen-farewells-scott-sattler-as-he-takes-on-new-nrl-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/93798\/","title":{"rendered":"SEN farewells Scott Sattler as he takes on new NRL role"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                    <img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Screenshot-1590-1.png\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has extended its thanks to Scott Sattler for more than a decade of exceptional service, after it was announced he will be taking on a new role as Director of Football at the Gold Coast Titans.<\/p>\n<p>Sattler has been a crucial part of building SEN\u2019s footprint across New South Wales and Queensland, helping shape its NRL coverage and connect with fans across both states.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-132802 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Screenshot-1592.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"862\" height=\"740\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Sattler joined SEN in 2012, co-hosting Sportsday alongside Gary Belcher, and quickly became a familiar voice in rugby league, heard across more than 50 radio stations each night.<\/p>\n<p>He was also an inaugural member of the NRL Nation commentary team in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Sattler has called every NRL Grand Final since 2018, and will fittingly conclude his time with SEN at this year\u2019s Grand Final \u2013 returning to the stage where he had his most iconic moment in the 2003 decider with Penrith.<\/p>\n<p>A former player with 203 NRL games to his name, Sattler is best remembered for his legendary cover tackle in the 2003 Grand Final, helping secure victory for the Panthers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-132801 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Screenshot-1591.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"870\" height=\"529\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Sattler\u2019s connection to the Titans runs deep. He was part of the club\u2019s launch in 2007 and played for the Gold Coast Chargers. His father John \u2013 a \u00a0four-time Premiership captain with the Rabbitohs \u2013 was instrumental in the region\u2019s first franchise, the Gold Coast Seagulls.<\/p>\n<p>His return to the Titans marks a full-circle moment and a chance to pursue some unfinished business.<\/p>\n<p>SEN has agreed to release Sattler early to take up his new role, though he will continue to contribute through the remainder of the 2025 NRL season.<\/p>\n<p>SEN CEO Craig Hutchison says Sattler will always remain a part of the SEN family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScott\u2019s legacy and impact on our business has been enormous, and second only to his character and integrity as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScott has been a foundational part of our ventures into covering the NRL, as well as our entry into the New South Wales and Queensland markets.
