British footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones has said he thinks King Charles should have handed throne to his son Prince William and his wife Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales, upon the death of late monarch Queen Elizabeth II.

Speaking on the The Louis Theroux Podcast, Jones, 61, described himself as a “royalist” and said that William, 44, should have been made King.

“I’m a massive royalist, you know. I support the royals massively,” he said during the podcast appearance.

“You see, I think [Charles] went against the grain. I think they moved the goalposts for him with Camilla, and I’m a William and Kate supporter now. I think they’ve done it right… I’m a right traditionalist. I love tradition.”

When asked if he thinks Charles should have been “barred” from the throne for marrying a divorcee, he said: “I was hoping that he would have done the right thing and said, ‘Thank you very much. We’re going to step aside,’ and William and Kate are going to be the King and Queen.”

King Charles, now 77, was 73 years old when ascended the throne on September 8, 2022, following the death of his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Charles and Queen Camilla, 79, married in April 2005 in a civil ceremony, and had a religious blessing, and both were divorced previously.

Camilla was previously married to Andrew Parker Bowles from 1973 to 1995, the year they finalised their divorce, while Charles married Princess Diana in 1981 and they divorced in 1996.

His divorce did not prevent his accension, nor did marrying a divorcee.

The late Queen gave approval for Charles and Camilla to marry and also revealed she wanted Camilla to be known as Queen Consort when Charles became King.

In 2002, The Church of England lifted the ban on remarriage of divorcees in a church.

Previously, in 1936, King Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry American two-time divorcee and socialite Wallis Simpson.

British footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones has said he thinks King Charles should have handed throne to his…

[32
505602,505607,505588,2409,399389,8288,202613,129887,505584,385060,36918,505593,505591,505600,424252,505581,505583,505582,505578,505598,505601,9716,505609,505611,257038,74752,505595,505587,64,63,505604,80925,24720,195656,447,23692,378609,432174,383914,505592,22426,505608,1208,134,505596,155922,193063,505585,505590,505580,469850,505589,505597,4443,13203,7145,2546,505610,70822,505579,135738,20246,57382,15385,7551,505603,91640,25441,100920,505606,137936,10661,505586,38930,13935,8955,405995,79629,390357,484592,424939,376740,461510,399520,377304,381092,87494,505594,385089,400663,25759,505605,388167,378969,390243,345562,19571,505599,12812,389095,2343,135337
post-939211","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-celebrities","tag-505602","tag-1973-to-1995","tag-505588","tag-2409","tag-399389","tag-8288","tag-202613","tag-129887","tag-73-years","tag-385060","tag-36918","tag-a-royalist","tag-a-british-football-personality","tag-a-british-footballer","tag-a-church","tag-a-civil-ceremony","tag-a-divorcee","tag-a-massive-royalist","tag-a-religious-blessing","tag-a-right-traditionalist","tag-a-william-and-kate-supporter","tag-actor","tag-actor-vinnie-jones","tag-american-two-time-divorcee-and-socialite-wallis-simpson","tag-andrew-parker-bowles","tag-approval","tag-april-2005","tag-ascended-the-throne","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-british-footballer","tag-british-royal-family","tag-buckingham-palace","tag-camilla","tag-celebrities","tag-charles","tag-charles-and-camilla","tag-charles-and-queen-camilla","tag-chris-jackson-getty-images","tag-church-of-england","tag-divorce","tag-divorcees","tag-england","tag-entertainment","tag-ex-footballer","tag-footballer","tag-guy-ritchie","tag-guy-ritchie-films","tag-his-accension","tag-his-beloved-mother","tag-his-divorce","tag-his-son-prince-william","tag-his-wife-catherine","tag-jones","tag-kate-middleton","tag-king","tag-king-charles","tag-king-charles-should-have-handed-throne-to-his-son-prince-william","tag-king-edward-viii","tag-late-monarch-queen-elizabeth-ii","tag-monarchy","tag-picture","tag-prince-and-princess-of-wales","tag-prince-charles","tag-prince-william","tag-prince-william-and","tag-prince-william-and-kate","tag-princess-diana","tag-princess-kate","tag-queen-consort","tag-queen-elizabeth","tag-queen-elizabeth-ii","tag-remarriage","tag-royal","tag-royals","tag-royalty","tag-september-8","tag-succession","tag-the-ban","tag-the-british-royal-family","tag-the-church","tag-the-death","tag-the-goalposts","tag-the-grain","tag-the-king-and-queen","tag-the-late-queen","tag-the-line","tag-the-podcast-appearance","tag-the-prince-and-princess","tag-the-right-thing","tag-the-royals","tag-the-the-louis-theroux-podcast","tag-the-throne","tag-the-year","tag-their-divorce","tag-throne","tag-tradition","tag-vinnie-jones","tag-wales","tag-wallis-simpson","tag-william","tag-william-and-kate
["GET
