{"id":94351,"date":"2025-08-25T09:38:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T09:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/94351\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T09:38:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T09:38:11","slug":"telstra-to-lead-my-health-record-data-architecture-overhaul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/94351\/","title":{"rendered":"Telstra to lead My Health Record data architecture overhaul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Telstra\u2019s digital health arm has won a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tenders.gov.au\/Cn\/Show\/06a0de77-e4d6-4d63-b71a-f4443065a48d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> $33.2 million<\/a> contract to implement a new data architecture for the government&#8217;s My Health Record based on a global interoperability model.<\/p>\n<p>                                <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"ContentPlaceHolder1_ucArticle_imgImage\" width=\"748\" height=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1756114690_1_ImageResizer.ashx\" alt=\"Telstra to lead My Health Record data architecture overhaul\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) went to tender <a href=\"http:\/\/tenders.gov.au\/ATM\/ShowClosed\/3a897911-8070-45a8-8e12-ac41635c256b?PreviewMode=False\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">last September<\/a> for a provider to build platform capabilities and infrastructure integrations that will organise various, disparate health systems into accessible, modular components.<\/p>\n<p>The new architecture will be underpinned by what&#8217;s known as fast healthcare interoperability (FHIR) resources, an international standard designed to make health data modular, accessible, and shareable.<\/p>\n<p>The solution will enable FHIR-based data exchange within My Health Record, operating in parallel with existing clinical document architecture (CDA) formats to support both legacy and modern healthcare systems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.nextmedia.com.au\/News\/ADHA_architecture.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1756114691_332_ImageResizer.ashx\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Telstra Health will lead the program alongside Leidos Australia and Canada-based Smile Digital Health.<\/p>\n<p>According to an ADHA statement, the solution aims to fix healthcare providers\u2019 \u201cobstacles in extracting specific, actionable data from CDA documents\u201d, which is causing \u201cinefficiencies&#8221;
