Currently ranked No.4 among WBA featherweights, the gutsy Batemans Bay slugger is on a tear of 11 straight wins.<\/p>\n
The most recent of those came in September, when Falzon earned a comprehensive decision win against India\u2019s Monika Singh and Canterbury-Hurlston Park RSL.<\/p>\n
And while the Aussie has never fought anyone remotely close to the class of Serrano, she has vowed to now \u201ccreate history\u201d in the new year.<\/p>\n
Better, the opportunity means the South Coast puncher suddenly inks her name onto the end of an incredible run of fights including world title bouts for Tim Tszyu, Liam Paro and Skye Nicolson.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Nikita Tszyu is also set to make his US debut in early December.<\/p>\n
For Serrano, meanwhile, the January headliner brings down the curtain on an incredible career that has seen her break barriers, unify divisions, and win gold straps across a staggering seven different divisions.<\/p>\n
But as for her Aussie rival?<\/p>\n
While Falzon only took up boxing at age 24, this fighter born in the same year as UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski is now looking to create her own slice of Australian sporting history.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter 14 years as a professional boxer, I\u2019ve been given the opportunity of a lifetime,\u201d Falzon said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m stepping into the ring with the best female boxer in the world.<\/p>\n

Quizzed on her opponent, the Aussie continued: \u201cI have nothing but respect for Amanda Serrano.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I\u2019m not stepping into that ring just to share it with greatness. I\u2019m stepping in there to create my own piece of boxing history.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a career that has taken her all around the world \u2013 including a 2022 Madison Square Garden headliner against Katie Taylor \u2013 Serrano now returns to Puerto Rico for one final fight in front of her home fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoxing has been my life,\u201d she said shortly after the fight was announced. \u201cAnd I never could\u2019ve imagined the journey it would take me and my family on.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the early days when women\u2019s boxing was fighting for recognition in small theatre shows, to headlining Madison Square Garden, reaching millions of fans, helping open doors for the next generation \u2026 I\u2019m proud of everything accomplished.\u201d<\/p>\n
Serrano also praised her promoters, Most Valuable Promotions.<\/p>\n
\u201cNone of it happened alone,\u201d she continued. \u201cNakisa, Jake and MVP believed in me and in women\u2019s boxing.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd together we\u2019ve helped change what\u2019s possible for women in this sport.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve fought for respect, equal opportunities, fair pay, and the choice to compete under the same rules as men.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s still more work to do. And I\u2019ll continue fighting for the next generation long after I hang up my gloves.<\/p>\n
