The team placed the goaltender on injured reserve Friday with a lower-body injury after he was forced to exit Wednesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers.<\/p>\n

Head coach Ryan Huska told reporters<\/a> that Cooley will be week-to-week.<\/p>\n

Oilers forward Colton Dach crashed into Cooley with 12 seconds remaining in the opening 20 minutes and received a two-minute penalty for goaltender interference.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cooley remained in for the final 12 seconds but was not on the bench to start the second. He was then ruled out for the remainder of the game with a lower-body injury, the team announced.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old had allowed just six goals on 133 shots over his previous four games entering Wednesday’s game, good for a .955 save percentage.<\/p>\n

With Cooley out, Dustin Wolf is set to start the Flames’ game against the Seattle Kraken Friday night (Sportsnet West, Sportsnet+, 8 p.m. ET \/ 6 p.m. MT). It will mark his first start since Oct. 15.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Arsenii Sergeev will serve as Wolf’s backup after being recalled from the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers. <\/p>\n

Forward William Stromgren was also recalled Friday from the Wranglers.<\/p>\n
