Selma Blair broke her social media silence Friday following her arrest over an in-flight meltdown<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi, it\u2019s me. I know I\u2019ve been quiet for a couple weeks since Oct. 11,\u201d the \u201cLegally Blonde\u201d actress said in an Instagram video<\/a>. \u201cYou deserve to hear from me directly, and I\u2019m sorry it\u2019s taken this long.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a legal matter going on and my lawyers have asked me to not say anything about that day, and I\u2019m listening to them. I take this very seriously,\u201d she continued. \u201cWhat I can tell you, though, is very simple and the truest thing I know about myself. Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blair then apologized to those she has \u201cdisappointed,\u201d \u201churt,\u201d \u201cfrightened\u201d and \u201calarmed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so sorry,\u201d the 54-year-old said emotionally. \u201cAnd to the people that have written or called or sent wishes of love or caring, it has meant everything to me and my son, who is my world \u2014 as is Scout, who is also OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blair said she is going to focus on \u201ctaking care of [her] health and [her] son,\u201d Arthur Saint Bleick, as well as those who support her \u201call with gratitude and love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blair apologized to those she has \u201cdisappointed,\u201d \u201churt,\u201d \u201cfrightened\u201d and \u201calarmed,\u201d saying while on the verge of getting emotional, \u201cI am so sorry. Selma Blair\/Instagram<\/p>\n

The \u201cCruel Intentions\u201d star was arrested earlier this month after allegedly punching a flight attendant and biting another<\/a> aboard a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York.<\/p>\n

She was reportedly placed in restraints while still on the aircraft before being taken into custody upon landing.<\/p>\n

Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head multiple times while being transported to the hospital in an ambulance.<\/p>\n

She was also accused of assaulting a nurse at the hospital, who\u00a0subsequently pressed charges against her.<\/p>\n

911 dispatch audio from the incident<\/a> captured the pilot requesting medical assistance and law enforcement officers when the plane landed to deal with an \u201cabusive\u201d passenger.<\/p>\n

The pilot also noted that the \u201cdisruptive\u201d passenger had left one flight attendant with a bloody nose and another with visible bite marks.<\/p>\n

Additional audio captured Blair screaming after being removed from the aircraft.<\/p>\n

At the time, Blair\u2019s representative told Page Six that she had \u201cexperienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n

Delta Airlines also addressed the incident<\/a> in a statement to Page Six, saying, \u201cDelta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.\u201d<\/p>\n

In court shortly after the incident, Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault and was released on bail. If convicted, she could face two to seven years behind bars.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese factors coupled with the altitude resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation,\u201d one of her attorneys, Shawn Barnes, said. \u201cThis was not an intentional assault.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blair later broke her silence on the incident<\/a> through her representative, who suggested there was \u201cmuch more to this story.\u201d<\/p>\n
