Learn more<\/a><\/p>\n Share article as gift<\/p>\n AAA<\/p>\n Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem and her guitarist husband Matthew Copley have emerged as buyers of a $10.9 million Rose Bay mansion with a pool.<\/p>\n Settlement documents in October show the couple, who wed in Malta in June 2025, bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom house from David Allen of Plato Investment Management and the president of the Eastern Suburbs Rugby Club.<\/p>\n The price wasn\u2019t disclosed after the private treaty sale on May 27, leaving the settlement to reveal the price and buyer\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n The home\u2019s interiors are neutral with French oak herringbone floors, an imported Italian marble fireplace, and a white kitchen with a breakfast bar and butler\u2019s pantry. Bedrooms offer a pop of colour with patterned wallpaper.<\/p>\n There are multiple al fresco entertainment zones including a bougainvillea-draped terrace, pool and gardens by landscape designer Paul Bangay.<\/p>\n Records show Goodrem also owns a unit in Darlinghurst, bought for $4,825,000 in 2018.<\/p>\n The pop star is currently a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, the British equivalent of Dancing With the Stars, and placed fourth at this year\u2019s Eurovision Song Contest, where she represented Australia. Her eighth studio album Pure is out next year.<\/p>\n Rose Bay\u2019s median house price is $6.35 million<\/a> on Domain data, up 22.1 per cent in the year to September.<\/p>\n The Rose Bay residence was sold by D\u2019Leanne Lewis of Laing+Simmons Double Bay. Simon Cohen of Cohen Handler is understood to have been the buyer\u2019s agent.<\/p>\n Grand plans for Rose Bay homeRelated Article Elsewhere in the suburb, a grand renovation to cost around $8 million is in store for the home previously owned by Brian Powell and his wife Corin, founders of activewear brand Running Bare.<\/p>\n The couple sold their six-bedroom, four-bathroom house for $26.5 million in December last year, and the buyer emerged on settlement documents in May as property developer Hua (Jerry) Chen, as reported by this masthead<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hua\u2019s approved plans lodged with council in October have an estimated cost of $8.2 million, and will consist of alterations and additions, resulting in an elegant two-storey property with a primary dwelling at the front and an ancillary unit at the rear, a pool and landscaping.<\/p>\n Luigi Rosselli Architects have been enlisted for the project with its objective described on planning documents as \u201cto provide for the housing needs of the community within a low density residential environment\u201d.<\/p>\n The ground floor level, which will form part of the principal dwelling, is to include a rumpus and cellar, gym, sauna, steam room, powder room, media room, guest room and en suite, as well as plant rooms and access to the pool area.<\/p>\n Hua is the founder and director of H&T Group, a property developer and investment firm in Australia. The title is linked to a company name of which Hua is the sole director.<\/p>\n Related Article The Federation estate was purchased by the Powells for $2.2 million in 1997, records show, and has been renovated over time.<\/p>\n There is a grand entrance foyer, timber floorboards, coffered ceilings, leadlight windows and a marble island kitchen.<\/p>\n Running Bare was founded in 1983 by the Powells, and their daughter, Yolanda, is the design director.<\/p>\n Paul Biller and Ben Torban of Biller Property sold the Powells\u2019 home but declined to comment on any aspect of the sale when contacted by this masthead.<\/p>\n Vendors offer discount <\/p>\n The vendors of a ten-bedroom, ten-bathroom manor in Elizabeth Bay have adjusted the price guide to meet the market and sell, offering a discount of as much as $10 million.<\/p>\n Retired financial advisor and former race car driver John Pooley and his wife Pru, who worked as a Qantas international flight attendant, bought the abode for $1.1 million in 1988, records show, and are now relocating to Palm Beach on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n The price guide ahead of the auction in September was $30 million <\/a>and has been adjusted to $20 million to $22 million, with expressions of interest closing November 17.<\/p>\n Simon Exleton of Pillinger is selling the home and told this masthead they received offers in the low to mid $20 million range with long settlements, and after choosing not to go to auction, are negotiating with all parties.<\/p>\n \u201cIn light of modest offers, the vendors recognise the current real estate opportunities available to them on the Gold Coast when you buy and sell in the same market – hence the price adjustment down from $30 million to $20 million to $22 million,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The couple restored the property to its former hotel glory in 2020, but never resumed operation as a hotel due to COVID.
