Tasmanian musician Samuel Wellings, known as Kim Dracula, has made a lucky escape after their tour bus caught fire in the early hours of the morning in Texas.<\/p>\n

In a post to social media, Dracula said the bus caught fire “while we were sleeping” at 6am local time.<\/p>\n

“I was in the back behind a locked door and was woken up by my crew banging on the door telling me to get off the bus,” Dracula wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

“We all got off immediately and within 30 seconds the entire bus was engulfed in flames, starting right where I was laying down.”\"Person<\/p>\n

The musician, who now lives in the United States<\/a>, has been supporting American metal-core band Ice Nine Kills on their ‘Hell of a Summer Tour’ across the United States.<\/p>\n

Dracula said most of the crew “lost all our possessions” including “things we needed for the show”.<\/p>\n

“As such, we were unable to perform tonight and will not be able to perform tomorrow,” they said.\"A<\/p>\n

The damage means Dracula will not be able to perform at gigs in Texas and Arkansas, but hoped to be “back on the road” supporting Ice Nine Kills in Madison, Wisconsin on August 27.<\/p>\n

“I am sorry to any of you who were looking forward to seeing us perform.<\/p>\n

“I was unable to make this post any earlier as I lost my phone in the fire.<\/p>\n

“Everyone in the crew is safe however, including myself. We look forward to jumping back in soon,” Dracula said.<\/p>\n

From TikTok stardom to international tours<\/p>\n

Kim Dracula shot to fame during the pandemic, when they began to share metal re-interpretations of songs on social media.<\/p>\n

Already this year, the Tasmanian musician has toured the US with Japanese metal-core band, Hanabie, and joined a European festival circuit.<\/p>\n
