In search of his first solo victory on the PGA Tour, Andrew Novak holds a three-shot lead heading into the weekend at the VidantaWorld Mexico Open. He obviously would like to maintain that advantage on Saturday for various reasons, not the least of which being this fact about the tournament since it became a PGA Tour event in 2022: The largest final-round comeback in tournament history is just one stroke. That came a year ago, when Brian Campbell rallied to claim his first tour title.<\/p>\n
Novak has won previously on the PGA Tour, but it was a team victory along with Ben Griffin at the 2025 Zurich Classic.<\/p>\n
Ironically, Griffin is one of Novak\u2019s closest pursuers at Vidanta Vallarta, sitting tied in second place along with Matthieu Pavon, Adrien Dumont de Chassart and amateur Kihei Akina.<\/p>\n
The winner on Sunday will claim a $1.08 million prize money payout from an overall purse of $6 million.<\/p>\n
