Scott Cam has given viewers a sneak peek of what to expect in tonight\u2019s Block Auction\u2019s.\u00a0Nine<\/p>\n
While Cam was tight-lipped about the results of the auction, he told Weekend Today the day was \u201cintense.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cThe vibes this morning are pretty full on as always afterThe Block auctions. I can\u2019t give too much away, of course, I don\u2019t even know why I\u2019m here,\u201d he joked. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a rollercoaster of a ride yesterday, I am exhausted as always after auction day.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a really long day, and I feel a bit sick in the stomach for most of it, I can tell you it was full on.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added the contestants were \u201cabsolutely\u201d nervous about auction day given the unprecedented new reserve price laws in Victoria, and the dire clearance rates. <\/p>\n
\u201cWith the way the market is in Victoria, 50 per cent clearance rates in the last coupe of weeks, the new laws that have come out where you\u2019ve gotta reveal the reserve price, which no one really knows how that\u2019s going to affect an auction, the vendor or the buyer,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think if you\u2019ve got a fair reserve price, which ours were fair, it means people will turn up knowing how much they\u2019ve got to spend.\u201d <\/p>\n
The reserve prices had already been revealed to the public before auction day. <\/p>\n
The auctions happened to fall on the second weekend that the laws were in effect. <\/p>\n
Each house had the same reserve of $3.45 million with a sale guideline of $3.6 million to $3.9 million.<\/p>\n

Auction Day is just around the corner and we\u2019ve got all the details you need to know. \u00a0Nine<\/p>\n
That is, apart from Rick and Tayla and House 5, who won Week 12 and the prize of $50,000 knocked off their reserve.<\/p>\n
Cam added the contestants were so nervous that some fell completely silent. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey were at times on mute. They weren\u2019t even talking at times, I had to really get them to open up to me throughout the auction because it was so unknown,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that he always wants the contestants to do well come auction day. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI spend three months with these guys, they work really hard. We never set anybody up to fail on The Block, we always want them to make money and do well,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re proud of what they\u2019ve done, we always hope they make money and sometimes, as we\u2019ve seen before, sometimes they don\u2019t.\u201d <\/p>\n
