<\/p>\nSix people have died and four others are seriously injured after a spate of horror crashes on Victorian roads since Friday.<\/p>\n
Four people died on Saturday, including a pedestrian and a motorcyclist.<\/p>\n
Two motorcyclists in their 20s died on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Six people, since Friday, who should be home with their loved ones never will [be],” said State Commander for Operation Furlong Acting Superintendent Michael Kelly.<\/p>\n
“Several others remain fighting for their lives in hospital with critical injuries that may change their lives forever.<\/p>\n
“Sadly, despite repeated warnings and a highly visible police presence across the state, we continue to see devastating decisions being made on our roads.”<\/p>\n
The first incident occurred on Friday afternoon in Footscray when a 25-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a car at the intersection of Ballarat Road and Dawson Avenue.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The driver of the car, a 59-year-old Mount Waverley man, was arrested and interviewed at the scene before being released pending further enquiries.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Later that evening, another motorcyclist died in when he crashed with a car on the Black Spur in Healesville about 7:15pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The rider, a 21-year-old from Somerville, died at the scene. Police will prepare a report for the coroner. \u00a0<\/p>\n
On Saturday, a 75-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle at a pedestrian crossing at Dennington, near Warrnambool, just after midday. She died at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 53-year-old male driver of the car provided assistance to the woman and will be interviewed by police.<\/p>\n
About 6:20pm on Saturday, a 26-year-old Nunawading man died after losing control of his motorbike and crashing into a tree in Blairgowrie, near the Mornington Peninsula.<\/p>\n

The bike’s passenger, a 29-year-old Blairgowrie man, was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remain in a critical condition.<\/p>\n
At roughly the same time, police were called to a fatal crash between two cars in Maryborough in western Victoria.\u00a0<\/p>\n
One of the drivers, a 47-year-old man from Maryborough, died at the scene. His passenger, a 75-year-old woman from Maryborough, was flown to hospital where she remains in a serious condition.<\/p>\n
About an hour and a half later, the driver and sole occupant of a ute died after crashing into a tree in Werribee in Melbourne’s west. The man has yet to be identified.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This year 227 people have died on Victorian roads, 20 less than the same time last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Victoria Police are also investigating a crash between an e-bike and a car on Saturday in Moolap, near Geelong.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A 17-year-old boy was flown to a Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in a serious condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Another 17-year-old male was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the driver of the car, who stopped at the scene, was not injured.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old Warrnambool man was yesterday charged over a collision that allegedly killed 70-year-old local cyclist Clive Coomber on Hopkins Falls Road in Cudgee in March.<\/p>\n
Police said the man was charged with a number of offences, including culpable driving causing death, and failing to stop and render assistance.<\/p>\n
