<\/p>\nThe car involved in a fiery crash which killed two 16-year-old boys in Bullsbrook in Perth’s north-east on Saturday night was stolen, the police commissioner has said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said the teenagers were the driver and passenger of a grey BMW 3 Series sedan that was travelling north on Railway Parade when it left the road, struck several trees and caught fire at around 10:20pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The two boys died at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n
WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch said the car was reported stolen last night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“In no way does that lessen the tragedy that’s occurred here,” Commissioner Blanch said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“This breaks all of our hearts to know that two 16-year-old boys have died from a car accident.<\/p>\n
“[It’s] a tragedy for our community, a tragedy for the parents and families involved and for first responders \u2026 it’s something that will be stuck in their brain for some time.”<\/p>\n

Passengers survive<\/p>\n
Two 17-year-old boys, who were in the back seat, were taken to Royal Perth Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It’s amazing that anyone walked away from that crash and we know that the crash also involved a fire that started in the brush where it crashed, so it could have been even worse,” Commissioner Blanch said.<\/p>\n
“One can only imagine, given the state of the car \u2014 I believe it was on its roof, [it] had rolled over \u2014 [that] speed was almost certainly a factor.”<\/p>\n
He said it was too early to say whether the two passengers would face charges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
