A series of dangerous storms have dumped hail on communities across south-east Queensland.<\/p>\n

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a number of warnings for very dangerous and severe storms from north of Maryborough down to northern NSW.<\/p>\n

More than 50 millimetres of rain was recorded in 30 minutes at Cooroy, on the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n

Hervey Bay resident Michael was speaking to ABC 612 when his home was hit by a storm.<\/p>\n

He said his front lawn looked like it was “covered with golf balls”.<\/p>\n

“The car’s literally wobbling in the driveway. I can’t see the grass now it looks like it just snowed.”<\/p>\n

As of 9pm a severe thunderstorm warning remained in place for parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt.<\/p>\n

The bureau has forecast more extreme weather for much of south-east Queensland on Tuesday and warned the potential for very dangerous storm cells could even result in one or two brief and short-lived tornadoes.<\/p>\n

Senior forecaster Angus Hines said storms could bring “significant damage” including large hail, wind damage and flash flooding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A series of dangerous storms have dumped hail on communities across south-east Queensland.
