{"id":950339,"date":"2026-11-02T22:20:16","date_gmt":"2026-11-02T22:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/950339\/"},"modified":"2026-11-02T22:20:16","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T22:20:16","slug":"pga-tour-finds-new-sponsor-after-good-good-fallout-australian-golf-digest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/950339\/","title":{"rendered":"PGA Tour finds new sponsor after Good Good fallout \u2013 Australian Golf Digest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[Photo: Alex Slitz]<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PGA Tour\u2019s event in Austin, Texas, has a new sponsor in wake of the Good Good fallout.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overnight, Australian time, Compliance Solutions was announced as the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Austin Championship, which begins next week. Compliance is an accounting and tax service provider based in Longwood, Florida, and has an existing relationship with the tour, sponsoring Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Champions events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/good-good-to-step-away-from-sponsoring-2026-pga-tour-fall-event\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Good Good to \u2018step away\u2019 from sponsoring PGA Tour event in November<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are proud to have their commitment and support as we prepare to bring this new event online,\u201d said the tour\u2019s executive vice-president Dan Glod.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The move ends a whirlwind lead-up for the tournament. Last October the tour announced it was partnering with the YouTube influencer brand Good Good, a popular YouTube channel and apparel company with a sizeable following among younger golfers, to host a late-season event. This would coincide with Golf Channel reviving the TV show \u201cThe Big Break\u201d, which would confer a spot in the Austin field to the winner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However in August Good Good <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australiangolfdigest.com.au\/good-good-callaway-golf-driver-woman-pushed-down-violence\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">released a promotional video<\/a> that showed a man shoving a woman to the ground in a fight over a new Callaway driver. The ad, intended as a parody of the movie \u201cObsession\u201d, drew immediate, far-reaching criticism, and was further inflamed by delayed apologies that many felt lacked accountability. PGA Tour chief executive Brian Rolapp called out the video during a press conference at the Tour Championship. \u201cWhat we saw was concerning,\u201d Rolapp said. \u201cIt is clearly not aligned with PGA Tour values.\u201d He later added the company\u2019s response was \u201ca bit defensive and late\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PGA Tour ended Good Good\u2019s sponsorship of the event while Golf Channel cancelled its planned reboot of the \u201cThe Big Break\u201d. Retailers including Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and PGA Tour Superstore removed Good Good\u2013Callaway merchandise from stores and their websites. Callaway later ended its partnership with Good Good, while Good Good\u2019s top two executives were pushed out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Austin Championship begins next week at Omni Barton Creek Resort &amp; Spa\u2019s Fazio Canyons course in Austin.
