A striking lady in red, Jules Neale was buoyed by a wave of support as she made her debut in the Birdcage at Flemington.<\/p>\n
Preparing to do the iconic \u201ctap tap\u201d moment at the G.H Mumm marquee, there was a chorus of \u201cGo Jules\u201d heard from women in the crowd.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe girls have my back,\u2019\u2019 Neale said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo much support this whole year, it\u2019s absolutely blown me away and it\u2019s helped me in my journey this year so much. Having support behind you, it\u2019s really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was Neale\u2019s moment to shine on Melbourne Cup Day after her ex-husband, new Collingwood recruit, Lachie Neale, attended on Derby Day with his new partner Emma Field.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a whole year, I think we\u2019ve moved past that moment,\u2019\u2019 Jules said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m glad we were here on different days.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for Lachie\u2019s move to join the Magpies having won three flags at Brisbane and two Brownlow Medals, she said: \u201cI would have preferred him to be closer to the kids, but he\u2019s going to make his own decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jules said life is \u201cso good\u201d in Perth with their two young children having just moved into her new house.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m excited for summer and the beach,\u2019\u2019 the hairdresser said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I\u2019m definitely excited for a sip of Mumm. But probably most excited to see everyone\u2019s outfits. It\u2019s the colour, a bright moment. Feeling very girly.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jules was styled by Chris Kontos wearing By Johnny. She was joined by her girlfriend Gabby.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know much about horses but it\u2019s been on my bucket list to come to Melbourne, I just haven\u2019t made it yet with the kids and being pregnant,\u2019\u2019 she said. <\/p>\n
