Christina Applegate has joked that she feels like a “fraud” after her multiple sclerosis misdiagnosis.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Sweetest Thing and Anchorman star, 54, was interviewing Jack Osbourne, 40, on the latest episode of her MeSsy podcast when she spoke about the MS community and what it means to her.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Talk about being a fraud. I don’t even have it anymore. Jeez,” she joked during their chat alongside her co-host, Jamie-Lynn Sigler.<\/p>\n
“You still qualify,” Osbourne quipped, with the son of late rocker Ozzy Osbourne having been diagnosed with MS in 2012 when he was just 26.<\/p>\n
“Thank you. I’ll never leave this community,” Applegate went on.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I mean, I’ve made so many lifelong friends, and I care so deeply about everybody that we represent and that I represent. I’m still, you know, always going to be a part of it in one way or another,” she added.<\/p>\n
It came up after Osbourne spoke about his experience of MS and his symptoms.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Part of me feels like a bit of a fraud, in a sense, because I go to these MS events. I’ve had the disease, been diagnosed, what, 14 years now, and I’ll see people who were diagnosed a year ago, and they’re in a much worse position. So, they’re having a much harder time,” he said on the podcast.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“And I’m kind of like, well, like it does affect me. It hasn’t stopped me, and it hasn’t really slowed me down. There’s been windows it has. I feel like this kind of like… It’s like I said, a bit of a fraud with it, even though I’m not, but it’s just this strange relationship I have to it.”<\/p>\n
Multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, affects the central nervous system.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Symptoms include numbing, difficulty walking, vision issues and fatigue.<\/p>\n
In October on her podcast, Applegate revealed she recently found out she was misdiagnosed with MS, with doctors initially and incorrectly diagnosing her with MS back in 2021.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t get misdiagnosed and then all of a sudden you\u2019re better. I haven\u2019t gotten better… If anything I\u2019ve gotten worse in some ways,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n
