MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A Memphis, Tennessee, man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for engaging in sexual activity with a minor under 16 years old, and stalking the minor after they turned 18.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Andreus Shannon, 44, worked as a basketball coach for the local homeschool association.<\/p>\n

With his position, he groomed a 16-year-old basketball player and convinced her parents to drive the player to practices and scrimmages in Mississippi and Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Shannon was sentenced to 144 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release.<\/p>\n
