{"id":95332,"date":"2025-08-25T19:09:28","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T19:09:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/95332\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T19:09:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T19:09:28","slug":"two-weeks-to-go-every-nrl-teams-run-home-likely-final-ladder-best-and-worst-case-scenarios-nrl-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/95332\/","title":{"rendered":"Two weeks to go: Every NRL team&#8217;s run home, likely final ladder, best and worst-case scenarios &#8211; NRL News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fortnight remains of the 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NRL<\/a> regular season, and only one spot is left up for grabs in the top eight, but it could go down to the wire.<\/p>\n<p>The race for the top four is almost over as well, but could shift late, while jockeying for position in terms of hosting or travelling for finals also remains in the offing for the concluding weeks, with a heap of big games to be played.<\/p>\n<p>We have made another change to our tips for the weeks ahead, with the Raiders now forecast to beat the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/nrl\/teams\/dolphins\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dolphins<\/a> in Round 27, although that still remains up in the air and could likely depend on whether <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/coaches\/ricky-stuart\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ricky Stuart<\/a> elects to rest his troops with a home qualifying final locked in. Win two from two, have the Raiders drop one, and they take home the regular season.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s not what Melbourne are interested in, though, and while we have them winning both games and finishing second, they will likely look to rest players for the trip to Brisbane in the final round as they did last year.<\/p>\n<p>They can still drop to third, but would need two horrific losses, with the Bulldogs picking up two monstrous wins to overthrow a 140-point for and against differential.<\/p>\n<p>Likely finish: 2nd<br \/>Change from last week: Down one spot<br \/>Best-case scenario: 1st<br \/>Worst-case scenario: 3rd<\/p>\n<p>3. Canterbury Bulldogs<\/p>\n<p>Current position: 3rd, 36 points, + 114<br \/>Byes remaining: 0<\/p>\n<p>Remaining games<br \/>Round 26: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/nrl\/teams\/penrith-panthers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Penrith Panthers<\/a> (home)<br \/>Round 27: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/nrl\/teams\/cronulla-sharks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cronulla Sharks<\/a> (home)<\/p>\n<p>The Bulldogs are now mathematically out of the running for the minor premiership after coming up short against the Storm over the weekend, and realistically, a home qualifying final is long odds.<\/p>\n<p>They should still finish in the top four, and would need a calamity of results to miss out, given the Panthers can no longer catch them.<\/p>\n<p>Whether they travel to Canberra or Melbourne remains to be seen, though, with the Warriors only two points behind them and having a far easier run home.<\/p>\n<p>Likely finish: 3rd<br \/>Change from last week: Nil<br \/>Best-case scenario: 2nd<br \/>Worst-case scenario: 5th<\/p>\n<p>4. Sydney Roosters<\/p>\n<p>Current position: 8th, 28 points, + 72<br \/>Byes remaining: 0<\/p>\n<p>Remaining games<br \/>Round 26: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/nrl\/teams\/melbourne-storm\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Melbourne Storm<\/a> (away)<br \/>Round 27: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/nrl\/teams\/south-sydney-rabbitohs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">South Sydney Rabbitohs<\/a> (home)<\/p>\n<p>The Roosters&#8217; loss to the Eels puts them back in immediate and imminent danger of missing the top eight.<\/p>\n<p>While the outfit has a two-point buffer, that could be lost this week when they travel to Melbourne to play the Storm without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/players\/sam-walker\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Walker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If that is the case, and if either Manly or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerotackle.com\/nrl\/teams\/dolphins\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dolphins<\/a> win, it could well come down to them beating the Rabbitohs in the final round of the season, and that&#8217;s not a sure thing either.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, we will tip them to finish eighth, but that is anything but a guarantee.<\/p>\n<p>Likely finish: 8th<br \/>Change from last week: Nil<br \/>Best-case scenario: 5th<br \/>Worst-case scenario: 11th<\/p>\n<p>9. They can still get there (technically), but would need roughly a 180-point for and against turnaround.
