In claiming that their agreement \u201clocked up markets\u201d, Musk\u2019s case is seeking to undo one of Apple\u2019s most significant forays into AI and a marquee deal for OpenAI.<\/p>\n \u201cDefendants entered an unlawful agreement and conspiracy to leverage Apple\u2019s monopoly power in the US smartphone market to maintain OpenAI\u2019s monopoly power in generative AI chatbots,\u201d the complaint states. It is also seeking to \u201crecover billions in damages\u201d.<\/p>\n OpenAI rejected Musk\u2019s allegations and framed the suit as part of his broader attacks against the company. \u201cThis latest filing is consistent with Mr Musk\u2019s ongoing pattern of harassment,\u201d an OpenAI spokesperson said.<\/p>\n Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n The lawsuit is the latest front in the ongoing feud<\/a> between Musk and Altman. Altman and OpenAI have rejected Musk\u2019s criticisms and framed him as a petty, vindictive former partner.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re sad that it\u2019s come to this with someone whom we\u2019ve deeply admired \u2013 someone who inspired us to aim higher, then told us we would fail, started a competitor, and then sued us when we started making meaningful progress towards OpenAI\u2019s mission without him,\u201d OpenAI posted in a statement last year, following one of Musk\u2019s lawsuits.<\/p>\n The spat between Altman and Musk resurged earlier this month after the latter\u2019s threat to sue Apple.
