{"id":96168,"date":"2025-08-26T03:09:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T03:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/96168\/"},"modified":"2025-08-26T03:09:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T03:09:12","slug":"yamaha-confirms-its-v4-will-race-at-motogp-san-marino-gp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/96168\/","title":{"rendered":"Yamaha confirms its V4 will race at MotoGP San Marino GP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yamaha has confirmed that its new V4 MotoGP bike will race for the first time at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/location\/misano\/201\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">San Marino Grand Prix<\/a> next month.<\/p>\n<p>Riding duties for its race debut on 12-14 September will, however, be entrusted to test rider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/augusto-fernandez\/445329\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Augusto Fernandez<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor Misano, we are targeting seeing Augusto Fernandez race our new M1 prototype with the V4 engine,\u201d said Yamaha Motor Racing managing director Paolo Pavesio in a video on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an excellent preview and a concrete sign of our commitment to the future, while we continue to push with determination to get the best out of every race weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fernandez racing the V4 at Misano had been expected by many in the MotoGP paddock. Similarly, there is an expectation that race riders such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/fabio-quartararo\/109330\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Fabio Quartararo<\/a> will get a taste of the bike at the test that follows a day after the race.<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/paolo-pavesio-yamaha-motor-rac.jpg\" alt=\"Paolo Pavesio, Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/p>\n<p class=\"title\">Paolo Pavesio, Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director<\/p>\n<p class=\"photographer\">Photo by: Alexander Trienitz<\/p>\n<p>Yamaha\u2019s plan for the test, however, has not yet been officially confirmed. Apart from lead rider Quartararo, satellite rider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/jack-miller\/20959\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Jack Miller<\/a> is also expected to play an important role in the development of the V4 engine.<\/p>\n<p>This follows Miller <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/motogp\/news\/yamaha-jack-miller-pressure-2026-pramac-motogp-seat\/10753027\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">finally getting the nod to remain with the Pramac squad for 2026<\/a> following a long period of uncertainty.
