Disney+<\/a> Japan posted the full trailer and a new key visual for the new anime<\/a> of Tsukasa H\u014dj\u014d<\/a>‘s Cat’s Eye<\/a> manga on Tuesday. The trailer announces the anime’s first six weekly episodes will premiere between September 26 and October 31 in Disney+’s Star brand in Japan. The remaining six episodes will start streaming weekly from December 26, 2025 to January 30, 2026. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The trailer uses singer Ado<\/a>‘s cover of Anri<\/a>‘s “Cat’s Eye,” the opening theme song for the 1983 television anime. It confirms that Ado is performing the ending theme song “Magic,” as also previewed in the trailer.<\/p>\n

The anime stars:\n<\/p>\n

Yoshifumi Sueda<\/a> (High School DxD Hero<\/a>, Z\/X Code reunion<\/a>) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS<\/a>, Hayashi Mori<\/a> (Sand Land: The Series<\/a>, Cells at Work! Code Black<\/a>) is the scriptwriter, Yosuke Yabumoto<\/a> (The Legendary Hero is Dead!<\/a>, Duel Masters VS<\/a>) is designing the characters and serving as the chief animation director, and Yuki Hayashi<\/a> (Haikyu!!<\/a>, My Hero Academia<\/a>) is composing the music.<\/p>\n

Abrams ComicArts<\/a>‘ Kana imprint<\/a> has licensed<\/a> the manga and will release it in an omnibus edition in print with new English translations starting on September 9.<\/p>\n

Hojo’s Cat’s Eye manga centers on three sisters who run a cafe by day, and are notorious art thieves by night. The manga ran from 1981 to 1985, and inspired two television anime seasons by Tokyo Movie Shinsha<\/a>. The first 36-episode season aired between 1983-1984, and the second 37-episode season aired from 1984-1985. Coamix<\/a> released<\/a> the manga in English on it and Imagineer<\/a>‘s MangaHotto (MangaHot<\/a>) app and website in July 2024.<\/p>\n

The franchise<\/a> inspired the Lupin III vs. Cat’s Eye<\/a> cel-shaded CG crossover anime<\/a>. The anime debuted in January 2023 worldwide exclusively on Amazon Prime Video<\/a>. The new project celebrated both the 50th anniversary of the Lupin III<\/a> anime, and the 40th anniversary of Cat’s Eye.<\/p>\n

The manga inspired a live-action French series<\/a> that premiered on the French channels TF1<\/a> and TF1+ on November 11. The series debuted on Amazon Prime Video on December 18 internationally. Amazon is producing the series alongside Big Band Story. The series has<\/a> eight 52-minute episodes. The series takes place in modern day 2023. The series is getting a second season<\/a> on French channel TF1.
