Portland is a city known for its love of books and book stores. An annual festival that celebrates that love of all things literary announced its fall event lineup Tuesday, with dozens of authors coming to the city. <\/p>\n
The Portland Book Festival, hosted by nonprofit Literary Arts<\/a>, will be Saturday, Nov. 8. Popular romantasy author Rebecca Yarros<\/a> revealed Monday that she would be among the headliners. <\/p>\n FILE- Author Rebecca Yarros discusses her new book “Onyx Storm” at The Town Hall on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, in New York.<\/p>\n CJ Rivera \/ AP<\/p>\n Tickets for Yarro\u2019s appearance at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall went on sale at 10 a.m., Tuesday. <\/p>\n Literary Arts also announced politician Stacey Abrams, who has run twice for governor of Georgia, would headline. <\/p>\n Abrams writes fiction and will be at the festival to speak about \u201cCoded Justice,\u201d the third novel in her Avery Keene political crime thriller series. <\/p>\n FILE – Stacey Abrams is shown in this Aug. 8, 2022 file photograph, posing for a portrait in front of the State Seal of Georgia on in Decatur, Ga.<\/p>\n John Bazemore \/ AP<\/p>\n More than 80 authors will appear across 10 stages at the festival to speak about their writing in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, young adult, middle grade and picture books. <\/p>\n Staff from OPB will also make appearances as they host discussions with the authors. They include \u201cThe Evergreen\u201d host Jenn Ch\u00e1vez, \u201cThink Out Loud\u201d producer Allison Frost and host Dave Miller, \u201cMorning Edition\u201d host Jess Hazel, \u201cAll Things Considered\u201d hosts Crystal Ligori and Geoff Norcross and Aaron Scott of \u201cOregon Field Guide.\u201d <\/p>\n Miller will moderate the conversation with Abrams in a ticketed event at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. <\/p>\n Disclosure: OPB is a media sponsor of the Portland Book Festival. <\/p>\n In addition to featuring author conversations, the Portland Book Festival will include writing workshops, pop-up readings and a book fair. <\/p>\n While the festival will take place on Nov. 8, there will be more bookish events that week in Portland. \u201cCover to Cover,\u201d organized by community partners of Literary Arts, will have expanded programming Nov. 1-9. <\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to present the 2025 Portland Book Festival at a time when broad access to literature and meaningful dialogue are more important than ever,\u201d Andrew Proctor, executive director of Literary Arts, said in a press release. \u201cThe festival remains a vital place for readers and writers to come together to celebrate diverse stories that connect, challenge and inspire us.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"FILE-](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GWR3IPZUPRBB3LJLJCBOBD3T4I.jpg\")
