Cricket West Indies (CWI)<\/a> has taken another major step in its groundbreaking India development programme, sending 15 of the region\u2019s most talented female cricketers to a high-performance training camp at the prestigious Chennai Super Kings Academy.<\/p>\nThe squad is led by head coach Merissa Aguilleira and supported by assistant coaches Ryan Hinds and Tremayne Smartt. Team manager Yasmine St Ange is also included.<\/p>\n
The team left Barbados earlier this month for the intensive two-week programme, running through Aug. 30.\n<\/p>\n
It includes senior players such as Ashmini Munisar, Zaida James, Djenaba Joseph, and Trishan Holder, alongside some of West Indies Under-19 stars like Naijanni Cumberbatch, Niya Latchman, and Samara Ramnath.<\/p>\n
The training camp is intended to sharpen their skills against spin bowling, enhance technical proficiency, and build mental resilience in subcontinental conditions, which is important and fundamental for success at the international level.<\/p>\n
Chennai Super Kings Academy Director Sriram Krishnamurthy and his expert coaching staff will guide the players through precise and thorough training sessions and competitive practice matches, taking advantage of the academy\u2019s world-class facilities.<\/p>\n
CWI\u2019s Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, highlighted the significance of the initiative.\n<\/p>\n
