Dexter: Original Sin was renewed back in April, but now it has been canceled again.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a>\u2018s sources reported that \u201cthe series has in fact been on hiatus and no plans to shoot a second season had moved forward and no production dates were scheduled.\u201d <\/p>\n

Patrick Gibson<\/a> played a young Dexter on the series with Michael C. Hall<\/a> providing the voiceover for Dexter\u2019s inner voice.<\/p>\n

Set in 1991 Miami, the prequel series follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can\u2019t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement\u2019s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. <\/p>\n

The series followed Melissa (Annaleigh Ashford<\/a>) and her incarcerated father, known as the Happy Face Killer (Dennis Quaid<\/a>). After decades of no contact, he finally finds a way to force himself back into his daughter\u2019s life. In a race against the clock, Melissa must find out if an innocent man is going to be put to death for a crime her father committed. Throughout, she discovers the impact her father had on his victims\u2019 families and must face a reckoning of her own identity.<\/p>\n
