The Vancouver Canucks got some reasonably decent news on Saturday that linked them with three other teams to land Star Seattle Kraken Forward, which would mark as a welcomed reunion for general manager Patrik Allvin.
Other than trading for Evander Kane and re-signing three core members GM Patrik Allvin has been struggling to make the moves that are necessary to take the Vancouver Canucks to the next level and not have the 2024-25 NHL season repeat itself, but all of that can go out the door if he can just make one big move.Vancouver Canucks linked once again to Seattle Kraken star Jared McCann
With all the noise surrounding which team is going to win the offseason, there still is a few big names left to either sign in free agency or trade for.
Because almost every report has stated the Canucks won’t be able to add any strong names in free-agency, Trusted NHL Insider David Pagnotta has linked the Vancouver Canucks and two other teams as being frontrunners to land Seattle Kraken star forward Jared McCann.
McCann can play center and is a top-6 player, both things the Canucks desperately need ahead of next season. They aren’t going to find it in free agency anymore and now the team has a little bit of cap space.
Depending on the pick and prospect of course, the money and value should work. This would give the Canucks more of a fighting chance and maybe give Seattle what they’re looking for.
Although only playing one season for the Canucks in 2015-16, it was clear from the start he was going to be a solid top-6 forward in the NHL, but at the time, trading him to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a seventh-round pick and Filip HÃ¥llander was the best choice.
After 10 years of service, McCann would be one heck of a welcomed addition and upgrade for Vancouver.
