Police investigating fatal collision between vehicle and train in Maple Ridge

Ridge Meadows RCMP says it is investigating a fatal collision between a vehicle and a train in Maple Ridge Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Lougheed Highway near River Road shortly after 9:30 a.m.

BC Emergency Health Services says one ambulance was sent to the scene, but no patients were taken to hospital.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team has been called in to assist with the investigation.

This is the second time in as many days that a vehicle collided with a train in Maple Ridge. In Tuesday’s incident, one man — the driver of a truck — was air-lifted to hospital in critical condition.
